    Queens Cross Church

    August 9, 2017 in the United Kingdom ⋅ ⛅ 17 °C

Queen's Cross Church was one of Mackintosh's earliest buildings and indeed he was a trainee architect at the time. Commissioned by the Free Church of St Matthew, simplicity in design was necessary (in keeping with their beliefs). What Mackintosh produced was indeed simple but highly sophisticated in form. His trademark organic forms and limited colour palette were evident even at this early stage in his career. We were highly impressed by the excellent condition of the church and it's contents, thanks largely to the efforts of the Charles Rennie Mackintosh Society. This was one of the last Mackintosh sites we visited, but the earliest in terms of his career, and it was interesting to consider how his style had developed from this early example.Read more

    Fisrt day

    April 22, 2017 in the United Kingdom ⋅ ⛅ 8 °C

On the first day here we drove to our apartment in our fancy car (Mercedes-Benz) and had to go to the news agents to get our keys. We unpacked our bags and walked to a pizza place called "pizza express" which was really good. When we got home dad and I played a game of crib and I went to sleep for a good 11 hours. 😝😜😴💤💤💤Read more

    Glasgow - Day 1

    April 21, 2017 in the United Kingdom ⋅ ⛅ 12 °C

Just set down in Glasgow, upgraded our hire car to a Merc with all the Bells and Whistles for an extra 15 pounds a day! Best option though has got to be Sat Nav that got us into our first B&B without too many arguments😊. My phone is not UK ready so couldn't contact the owner, but with some help from friendly locals at Cafe del Sara Italian Cafe got in OK! Beautiful day short walk into Byer street for Pizza Dinner and early bed!Read more

    Glasgow, Seightseeing

    April 6, 2018 in the United Kingdom ⋅ ⛅ 7 °C

Read more
