      Southend-on-Sea

      Ich bin sehr glücklich. Ich bin sehr müde, aber Glücklichkeit ist das Gefühl, was raus sticht. Diese Woche war absolut genial und heute war keine Ausnahme. Wir sind relativ früh aufgestanden. Um acht Uhr haben wir das Haus verlassen, nachdem wir die ganzen Sachen zusammengepackt hatten. Dann waren wir schnell tanken und haben uns einen Frühstücks Kaukau gekauft und Kekse für später.
      Der nächste Stop war dann 1 1/2 Stunden später in Southend-on-Sea, erst bei Tesco und dann bei einem Shopingcentre direkt am Wasser. Im Shoppingcentre haben wir uns den gleichen Schlafasanzug gekauft und sind dann zum Strand gegangen. Da haben wir nicht bezahlt, dass wir den Pier einmal langgehen durften und sind stattdessen zur 'Adventure Island' gegangen, einem kleinen Vergnügungspark, wo wir auf die harmloseste Achterbahn gegangen sind - ich hab trotzdem ganz viel geschrien, ich wär nicht ich, hätte ich keinen Ton von mir gegeben...
      Nach der einen Fahrt sind wir ein paar Meter weiter gelaufen zu dem echten Strand und haben uns da auf meine Picknickdecke gesetzt und die warme Sonne und den leichten Wind genossen. Hin und wieder, wenn es zu warm geworden ist, sind wir mit den Füßen ins Meer gegangen. Das war wunderschön erfrischend, aber wirklich nicht kalt! Wir haben am Strand die Kekse gegessen und die geniale Woche noch einmal Revue passieren lassen. Echt unglaublich wo wir so waren! Von Birmingham nach Thame, nach Oxford, nach London und an die Küste! Zwei kulturelle Abende und so viel Spaß! Ich bin extremst dankbar für alles und an alle, die diese Woche möglich gemacht haben!
      Nach dem Strand haben wir ein paar letzte Einkäufe getätigt, ein ganz bisschen was gegessen und sind dann leider schon zum Flughafen gefahren. Da musste ich mich dann von Katie und Meike verabschiedet und die 1 1/2 Stunden wieder alleine zurückfahren.
      Zuhause hab ich dann mein Zimmer wieder zurück geräumt, einen Film geguckt und gelesen. Dann gab es nach ein paar Videos Abendessen. Danach war ich duschen und jetzt bereite ich mich aufs Bett vor.
      Nur der erste Teil des Tages war annähernd anstrengend, aber bei der Woche bin ich jetzt echt müde. Morgen ist aber nichts geplant, bis auf Joggen. Also wird mein Energielevel schon wieder hergestellt werden bald.

      Southend pier with Paddy and Elsie

      Paddy and Elsie came for another visit from London, and it was a lovely day, so we decided to go down the pier. It's the longest pleasure pier in the world at 1.3 miles long. Mum and Paddy took the train out, while Kit, Elsie and I walked out. We had a nice little lunch at the cafe. Elsie, Kit and I played a game of mini golf. It was Elsie's first time and she won! Kit took the train back with the others while Elsie and I walked back. It was wonderful getting to chat with her!Read more

      Leah on sea

      From the antique place I hopped on another train and went to Leah on sea. It was a bit of a process getting there. Google took me all over the place. I had to take two different trains and then hop on a bus that took another half hour to get to Leia on sea. At the bus stop there was a creeper the first one that I've ran into. There's a long line for various buses and he followed me from line to line and would wait until I was looking at my phone to double check and he inch closer. I quickly figured it out and went and huddled next to an older couple. Quickly figured out my bus and hopped on. He stayed at the bus stop hunting other marks. The only thing I had on my backpack that he could have gotten was a Star wars book I found at the last stop. He would have been sadly disappointed and I would have been very pissed off. The good stuff I kept in front of me and my purse and always had my hand on it. He's the only creeper that I've had this whole trip so far.

      So after all that I thought oh yeah I'm finally going to see the ocean and play on the beach. Well that did not happen. Their beach is crap! Nothing but mud and on top of that it's a weird inlet thing. So you can't even really see the ocean you see a spit of land that's full of old factories and ugly buildings. There were a couple neat shops in the town but the whole place was really a bust. And then I asked Google how to get me home and the f***** said I only needed to take one train. Well what the hell!? It took an actor Congress to get there but I only would need one goddamn train to get back? I was not impressed. To top it off the long train systems apparently are also used as children's school buses. So I was in a bus full of rowdy teenagers that just got out of school for the day.
