    10. Tag St.Ives nach Penzance

    April 24, 2019 in the United Kingdom ⋅ 🌧 11 °C

    Beautiful Cornwell

    May 1, 2018 in the United Kingdom ⋅ ⛅ 9 °C

    The Clotted Cream debate 😁

Historically, there have been more variations between Cornish and Devon cream teas than just whether jam or cream is placed on top. In Cornwall, the cream tea was traditionally served with a "Cornish Split", a type of slightly sweet white bread roll, rather than a scone. But nowadays the scones and clotted cream used throughout tearooms in both counties is very similar and therefore the main difference is how you choose to have it.Read more

    Levant Mine

    May 1, 2018 in the United Kingdom ⋅ ⛅ 9 °C

Levant Mine and Beam Engine is located within the St Just Mining District; one of the most ancient hard-rock tin and copper mining areas in Cornwall.

Copper and tin has been mined here for generations, and the mine workings of Levant extend over a mile out under the sea bed. In 1820, the Levant Mining Company was formed with a capital of £400, though Levant Mine first appeared on a map in 1748. By 1836, 320 men, 44 women and 186 children were employed on the site.Read more

First Full Day in St. Ives.....

    July 18, 2018 in the United Kingdom ⋅ ⛅ 18 °C

So today we decided to try to walk the coastal path to Zennor again . On our last trip 4 years ago we got 3/4 of the way and then turned around.
    Today we did it !!!!
It's noted as one of the most challenging parts of Cornwall's coastal path . That is the TRUTH!!
Wild , literally breath taking, challenging, steep , boulder climbing , not really comparable to the 6 miles as the crow flies !!!
Feel like we need some kind of medal for achieving it . Only our fellow hikers can understand our pain .
These pics honestly do not show the reality of this walking challenge !!!!
