      We got up verryy early again to catch our flight to Hawaii. We landed and found our accommodation. I forgot to be organised and we had a little key mishap. It was now my turn to be a little tired and hangry. We walked the beach and finally found something to eat. We also did some laundry and it was a big effort to find enough quarters. We then went for a dip and James was mean and put sand in my pants 😡😡 (did not help curb the grumpiness).       Flug 195 von United Airlines startet um 11:55 Uhr von MUC nach SFO.
      Das obligatorische Weißwurscht-Frühstück am Flughafen in München darf natürlich nicht fehlen, denn es gibt kein Bier auf Hawaii- es gibt kein Bier?!?!?
      Nach 12 Stunden Flug sind wir gut in San Francisco angekommen. Der Flieger war nicht mal halb voll und so konnten wir uns verteilen und hatten viel Platz.
      Wegen schlechtem Wetter sind wir verspätet in San Francisco losgekommen… Und in Honolulu mussten wir ewig auf unser Shuttle warten. Aber dann haben wir es doch noch pünktlich um 0:00 Uhr ins The Waikiki Beach Boutique Hostel geschafft 😅 Wir waren noch ein bisschen die Gegend auskundschaften und dann gings aber ab ins Bett.       Hüt hani nomal zunere andere Kollegin züglet und bin den nomal chli gah pöstele/lädele und han mini Köffere sicher nomal 3x umpackt. 😅 Ich hoffe ich han jetzt alles und es hät alles sin Platz. 🙏🏻

      Honolulu, Waikiki West

      Die erste Nacht und der erste Tag in Hawaii. Leider war die erste Unterkunft sehr sehr klein, weshalb wir beschlossen uns ein anderes Zimmer zu buchen. Nun haben wir ein kleines Appartement mit Kochnische und kleiner Balkon. Nachdem wir den Zimmerwechsel geregelt haben ging wir erst auf Entdeckungsrunde und fanden den wunderschönen Strand von Waikiki😍
      Daraufhin wurden bereits die ersten Ideen und pläne geschmiedet. Wobei wir direkt eine ganz Tagestour übet Oahu buchten. Wir regelten eine Sim Karte für die USA und liessen unseren Nägel machen inkl. Massagestuhl. Daraufhin wurden wir mit einem Mustang zur neuen Unterkunft gebracht, welche wirklich toll ist🥰
      Wir beide sind ziemlich kaputt und spüren den Jetlag! Erstmal früh schlafen.      Read more

      Tag 74 Honolulu

      Heute kammen wir in Hawaii an🏖. Es ist ein Traum🤤. Bis jetzt ist es mein Lieblingsort auf der Welt (oder von dem was ich gesehen habe)💜. Hier ist einfach alles in einem Teil🍕. Die Grossstadt von Japan, die Natur und Strände von Fiji und die coolen surfer Läden von Australien (da habe ich mich auch schon bedient)🏙. Am Abend trafen wir noch einen verwanten👫.

      Übrigens sind wir eine Woche und deshalb Schike ich heute die Fotos von den Hard Rock T-Shirts👕.      Read more

      Heute nahmen wir unser Mietwagen entgegen 🚙. Er ist sehr gross und es war sehr komisch rechts zu fahren➡️. Wir gingen an einen schönen Strand der auf der anderen Seite von der Insel lag🏝. Ich konnte Stunden im Meer baden🌊. Danach fuhren wir zurück🔙. Danach gingen wir an den Strand bei uns, da war ich nochmals zwei Stunden im Wasser 💦.

      76 Tag Honolulu

      Heute gingen wir auf den Koko-head, es war eine harte Wanderung über die Bahngleise🆙. Ja, ihr habt richtig gehört Bahngleise, es war eine alte Bahn🛤. Der Ausblick ho, der war einfach nur ein Traum🤤. Es gab einfach alles Steine, Bäume und das Meer 🌊. Aber nach einer kurzen Pause an einem schönen Strand, erklimmen wir auch schon wieder den nächsten Berg⛰. Der war noch einmal so anstrengend wie der Vorgänger🧗‍♂️. Jetzt gehen wir noch die Stadt und dann, dann kommt er, der Moment an dem wir Schluss machen🔚.

      Tag 80 Oahu

      Ich würde behaupten, dass heute der Tag war wo wir am meisten Adrenalin ausgeschüttet haben. Zuerst sprangen wir von den Klippen hinunter und am Nachmittag gingen wir in einem Käfig mit den Haien schwimmen. Alleine die Bootsfahrt war durch den starken Wellengang eine Herausforderung🤮. So erging es uns dann auch in dem Käfig. Schon bevor man ins Käfig einsteigt schwimmen überall Haie ums Boot. Das sind dann solche Momente wo man sich fragt, wieso man so was freiwillig tut🙈. Den Blick ins Wasser, war dann auch gleich die Antwort auf meine Frage. Es war trotz stürmischem Meer eine Ruhe unter Wasser. Die Haie schwammen um das Käfig herum und es war einfach nur unglaublich schön diesen Tieren auf Augenhöhe zu begegnen. Ein absoluter Höhepunkt unsere Reise! Levin war einmal mehr bewundernswert, wie er sich all dem stellte und den Mut hatte, das mitzumachen!
      Für diese Tour bekamen wir einen Preisnachlass von $100. Dafür mussten wir uns Morgen für eine Werbeveranstaltung im Hotel Hilton verpflichten🙄. Mehr dazu Morgen...      Read more

      North Island

      I started my day with a run. Figured that I wouldn't be feeling too keen later when the heat is on. I'm not used to early morning fitness though. So although I covered 5-6 kms, I probably only ran about 1/2 that distance. I ran from our condo to the beach and as far as I could along the beach. And ran a similar route back. We all cooked eggs for breakfast in our little kitchen, and put together sandwiches, veggies and fruit for lunch on the beach later.

      I used WIFI to map our route to the Dole Pineapple plantation and we headed to the car. About an hour later we arrived. I did not expect it to be as busy with tourists as it was. It reminded us of the Hershey Chocolate factory we had visited on a previous trip. Several tour packages were available but we opted to just take the the 20 min. tour train. The wait was going to be about 20 mins so we decided to have a snack. Emma and I had Dole whips. They are basically soft ice cream flavoured with pineapple. Very yummy. Laura and the boys had pineapple fruit cups.

      The tour was informative and enjoyable. We saw a number of different crops along with the pineapples, including bananas, cacao, avocado, coconut and others. Everyone (except for me because I had seen pineapple plantations before) was surprised to see that pineapples don't grow on trees!

      A short drive North of the Dole stop and we had reached the North shore of the island. We stopped at one of the first beaches we found, Haleiwa Alii, and had our lunch. It wasn't the best for swimming so we drove along the coast and stopped to swim at Sunset Beach. After a nice break there we drove further along the North Coast before heading back south along the East coast of the island. I had hoped to take highway 61 back into Honolulu but it was closed due to a landslide some time ago. As a result, the traffic was quite slow moving and it took us quite a bit longer to get back to our condo than anticipated. It was a very scenic drive and well worth it though.      Read more

      West Coast of Oahu

      Our plan, to start the day was to attend a big swap meet at the Aloha Stadium near the airport. We thought it was on until three but unfortunately it ended at noon this time because of another event happening in the stadium. We didn't think 15 mins would be enough to see much so we decided not to go inside.

      Instead, we continued west to the coast to check out the beaches there. We arrived to find it very windy. We walked along a paved walkway that connects four, man made lagoons. The first is a public beach and the others belong to resorts, including Disney. Each is a very nice, sheltered beach. Perfect for families with young kids. Not really what we were looking for.

      We drove from this resort area on the west coast back to Waikiki beach. We rented a surfboard to share. Good deal at $10/hr. The waves weren't the best but Aaron and Emma were both able to catch a few waves on the board. It was cloudy, which was perfect for us, with our burns from two days ago.

      This being our last night in Hawaii, we decided to go out for dinner. We decided on the Cheeseburger Waikiki. I had cod dipped in Hawaiian beer batter and fries, Aaron had a veggie burger, Jaden and Emma had beef burgers and Laura had an avocado, watermelon, tomato salad. All very good.

      We then walked to the beach and along the waterfront to catch an Hawaiian sunset. As a bonus, we saw a monk seal sleeping on the beach. Walking back we had a chance encounter with a street market. Lots of vendors and entertainment with the street closed to vehicle traffic. We all enjoyed that and stopped at the Haagen Daas for ice creams before walking back to the condo. That was almost a 6 K walk!      Read more
