    Sightseeing in Seattle

    September 17, 2019 in the United States ⋅ 🌧 14 °C

    Space Needle, Seattle

    September 27, 2019 in the United States ⋅ ⛅ 15 °C

We managed to get parked right next to the Space Needle. The fountains outside were lovely.
Took a while to get up to the top because of the queues. It was undergoing building work last time I was here. The changes were lovely. Big glass panels all around the viewing floor.
There was a revolving glass floor on the level below. It was strange walking on the glass. Takes an hour for a full circuit around.

    A day trip to Seattle

    October 19, 2019 in the United States ⋅ ⛅ 8 °C

We were up at what felt like the crack of dawn today to go and pick up a rental car and headed straight for Seattle! When we arrived we headed straight to Pike Street Market for some lunch and then went to the Space Needle. It was fun to see the city from up there and there’s even a revolving floor which is cool, but also messes with your head a bit!

After that we went to the museum of pop culture which was really interesting, before going for a walk to the Olympic park and along the Pier to watch the sunset and ferry boats (Grey’s anatomy fans will know the significance!) We enjoyed some locally caught fish for dinner, grabbed a coffee from the original Starbucks before driving back to Vancouver! We really could have don with another day or two to see more of the city but it was still a really great day trip.

We arrived pretty late and have another early start tomorrow morning... 😴

    Seattle, Space Needle

    August 1, 2019 in the United States ⋅ ☀️ 28 °C

Liczba dni slonecznych w roku wynosi 60, wiec mielismy szczescie. Rano nawet latem czuje sie chlodny przeciag, mozna zrozumiec wiec jak to sie stalo ze grunge'owcy wypromowali mode na flanelowe koszule. W tle za skyline'm, z odleglosci ok.90km wynurza sie stratowulkan Mt. Reiner, 4.393mnpm. My nie czekalismy 47 minut, a obchodzac wieze odnotowalismy m.in. trening pobliskiej druzyny futbolu amerykanskiego, regaty na zatoce., ladowanie wodnoplanu i wplywajace do portu promy. Wszystko we wspanialej aurze zachodzacego Slonca.

Uderza jednak duza ilosc bezdomnych. Kolejny dzien dal nam mozliwosc poznania miasta doslownie od podszewki :-).

    Space Needle Visit

    April 24, 2018 in the United States ⋅ ☀️ 17 °C

Tuesday morning we went up to Seattle to visit the Space Needle. Got caught in rush hour traffic but weren't delayed too badly. As we paid the entry fee the cashier guy said half the view was obstructed as they were doing work on the viewing platform. The lift took 41 seconds to reach the top. The lift operator gave a running commentary all the way up and when we came back down.
It was a beautiful day. The views weren't too badly obscured. One of the workmen had a habit of crossing on front of me as I was trying to take panoramic pictures

    Seattle Space Needle

    July 26, 2019 in the United States ⋅ ☀️ 26 °C

Back up at street level, and in extraordinary heat, we walked through more if the historic buildings of Pioneer Square, along the harbour and to the Space Needle. We grabbed a quick lunch in the Armory here before abandoning walking and instead taking
the monorail back to downtown. The Nest roof top in the Thompson Hotel overlooks the harbour which looked glorious in the sunshine as we partook in a cheeky afternoon pint before returning to the hotel to get out of the heat!
