      Mineral Bath

      March 18 in the United States ⋅ ☀️ 12 °C

Today we took the plunge and did a mineral bath at Buckstaff Baths. Didn't know what to expect it was a little odd but very relaxing. I'll give you my experience (Tim's was similar). Men and women are separated so I took an old-fashioned elevator to the 2nd floor where I was taken to a dressing room. The attendant told me to strip down to nothing, put my stuff in the locker and hang the key around my neck. She came back and wrapped me in a sheet like toga. I followed her to the bath room. The next person took me to my tub, she removed the sheet as I sank into the warm water (104 degrees). I was kind of skeptical as I noticed a wire in the water (I'm thinking to monitor temp) then she lowered what looked like a paint mixer into the tub and turned it on (the Jacuzzi). After about 15 minutes she came to loufa my back. I was then put into the steel torchure chamber called a steam chamber, yep only the head was untorchured. Then out of the chamber, rewrapped in the sheet and hot towels on the body and a cold one on my head. After that, the weirdest thing, you had to sit in the little tub of hot water that helped with lower back, hemorrhoids and prostate, your feet up on a stool and the sheet over your front. After that was a really nice massage and hand paraffin treatment. They made sure you stayed hydrated and encouraged you to continue.....so we stopped at the brewery. Now we are chilling.Read more
