      Auf und ab

      May 16, 2022 in the United States ⋅ ☀️ 30 °C

      Höhepunkte:
      Frühstück mit echtem Geschirr
Konnten schon Mittag unser Zimmer beziehen. Ein günstiges Motel und gut.
Die Wanderung am Fluss entlang im Zion NP
Kampf einer Klapperschlange mit einem Streifenhörnchen beobachtet

      Negativ:

      Capitol reef e Days inn

      August 10, 2022 in the United States ⋅ ⛅ 33 °C

      Zion National Park

      June 19, 2018 in the United States ⋅ ☀️ 32 °C

After a night in a really flash but cheap casino in North Las Vegas we got on the road to Zion National Park, Zion Canyon just out of Hurricane Utah.

There are no words to describe this place. We parked the car at Springvale and got onto the park service shuttle bus that drops you at the various hikes.

We went to stop 9, Temple of Sinawaba and walked up the Riverside hike to the narrows our second stop was a 7 Weeping rock. Both of these locations were just amazing and no photo can do justice to the depth of the canyon and the colours and various structures.
There are 9 walks in total and we were told that these two are spectacular, but you would need several days to cover the rest of these.

The saying bigger and better in America really strikes a chord when it comes to their National Parks. I do keep reminding everyone that we have Mt Cootha.

Now back in Hurricane sitting waiting for laundry to finish. It's still 32 degrees C whilst Brisbane is apparently shivering.

Bryce Canyon tomorrow. But we again we will go via Zion to take in a different angle from the through road.

      Vegas Baby

      March 8, 2023 in the United States ⋅ ☁️ 11 °C

Today was pretty much a travel day where we left Springdale Vegas bound.

Dave follows a guy on YouTube who does offroad recoveries in a place called Hurricane. It just so happened that Hurricane was on our way to Vegas and was only about half an hour out of Springdale. Set the GPS for Matt’s Offroad Recovery and we were on our way. There looked to be a meet and greet out the front with quite a few people lining up but we just wanted to see where it was. I saw Lizzy drive out as well as the Morrvair but Dave was driving and didn’t see it.

Back on the road Hoover Dam bound this time. First it was a stint on the crazy interstate but we survived. Driving into Hoover Dam you have to go through a security checkpoint where you need to wind all your windows down for the security officer to look into your car and you answer questions about firearms and drones. We got through this and it was time to explore.

From our last visit back in 2017, Lake Mead has lowered substantially as the states around it have been in continuous drought and there hasn’t been much run off from snow falls.

It was back on the road again through Boulder City and then Henderson before hitting the crazy interstate again to get into Vegas. If we didn’t have to go through hair-raising traffic at the beginning and end of our road trip, it would be the perfect experience.

We made it to the rental car drop off without any incidents. We worked out that have driven and explored 3023kms of this amazing country in 21 days and we have loved every minute of our road tripping.

We sat at the car rental hub until Kenzie made her way over to us. Her flight was a little delayed as they had to circle for a while waiting for a time to land but it wasn’t by too much.

Ordered an Uber, had to be an extra large one as we have quite a bit of luggage and he turned up within 5 mins and we were on our way to The Cromwell.

Unpacked and it was time to explore the Strip and have dinner.

      Deutsches Brot, Zion und Snow

      April 14, 2017 in the United States ⋅ 🌙 16 °C

      Near Travelodge.

The hgh altitude and arid climate had a surprising effect when I got of the motel
shower. It felt like moisture was sucked away from my skin. I only needed a towel to dry between my toes.Read more

      Hurricane

      February 18, 2020 in the United States ⋅ 🌙 10 °C

Also dann mal Gute Nacht 😴

      6. und 7. Nacht: Hurricane

      Arrived at Hurricane Cliffs

      May 18, 2021 in the United States ⋅ ☀️ 27 °C

Found a beautiful Campground after driving to 4 different US States in one Day. It is a boondocking Campground without any amenities but a great nature to explore.
