The Central Oregon Coast weather has continued to be beautiful! We only experienced one rainy day.
As always we spent most of our mornings playing pickleball. Our friends Jim and Angie met us on the courts Wednesday and Mark and Lynette on Friday. Monday I took a walk while Randy was getting in some extra games and came across the Connie Hansen Garden, a beautiful garden in the middle of a neighborhood.
The huckleberries Marcia and I foraged last week made some delicious muffins.
I celebrated my 69th birthday on Thursday. We celebrated by hiking the Knoll Loop Trail, a nice wooded trail with good elevation gain that rewarded us with beautiful views at the top.
Today we took a bike ride into Neskowin.
Tomorrow we continue our journey north for a week stay in Seaside.Read more

Today was not a particularly good day. I rode 58 miles with an extremely sore rear end, and constant pain in my left knee.

My route today had a lot more elevation. Not too bad, but the weight on my bike makes it excruciating. Although I CAN feel myself getting stronger.

When I was passing through Grand Ronde an older man told me I could camp in his yard, but on my way there I chickened out. I've seen too many scary movies! That was about 20 miles before I got to the coast . I probably should have taken my chances.

I almost got hit by a truck. It was my fault . I just didn't look well enough and didn't see him before I cross the street. All day long I've been scared of logging trucks passing me on winding roads with no shoulder, and I do something so stupid as not stop before I cross the street.

By the time I arrived in Neskowin my knee (and arse) was killing me, it was getting late ,and I was running out of water, so I decided on a motel for the night.

Also got a pretty bad sunburn on the bottom half of my legs.

Tomorrow I may bike a short 11 miles to a state park ,spend another night there, and let my body heal. Part of that 11 Mile track is a crazy hill that I'm going to have to climb. I'm extremely scared of it.

Highlight : I did make it to the Pacific Ocean!!!

P.S. I'm having Phantom pains( I guess that's what you call them) I just tried to take my helmet off while in lying in bed. So weird. My husband tells me that's going to get worseRead more

We spent nine nights at Neskowin Creek RV Resort where bunnies abound. We enjoyed three days of dry weather and six of rain. Took beach walks when we could, read, watched movies, drove up north for cheese tasting at Tillamook and Blue Heron Creameries. Had lunch at the Fish Peddler in Bay City and at Otis Pizzaria/Pronto Pups, breakfast at the Otis Cafe. Went to the Lincoln City Farmer's Market, held at the Cultural Center, and took in a textiles exhibit there as well.Read more

Traveler Nooo.... Neskowin is north of Lincoln City and South of Tillamook. Are you thinking of Nehalem?

We had gorgeous weather during our stay at Neskowin Creek RV Resort.
Tuesday and Friday we played pickleball at Dorchester Park in Lincoln City.
Wednesday we bicycled around Neskowin and got a good workout peddling and walking our bikes up a Tsunami Evacuation Route.
Thursday morning we hiked the Tsunami Evac Route beside the RV Resort, a nice 2.5 mile trek through the forest, then met our son Kyle at the Otis Cafe for a delicious lunch. https://www.otiscafe.com/
After lunch we drove down to Depoe Bay where we watched the waves crashing along the seawall and strolled the main drag. Though we didn't spot any whales we did catch some spray from the Spouting Horn.

Today we traveled northeast to Mt Hood Village RV Resort in Welches, Oregon. This will be our home for the next sixteen days.Read more

After a stop at Mt Hood Glass, for windshield chip repair on the motorhome and car, we had a beautiful drive to Neskowin Creek RV Resort. https://www.soundpacificrv.com/neskowin-creek
We spent our time hiking the trails adjoining the park as well as the Nestucca Bay National Wildlife Refuge https://www.fws.gov/refuge/nestucca-Bay and the Kilchis Point Reserve https://www.tcpm.org/kilchis-point-reserve.html. We rode our bikes up and around Neskowin and took drives to Taft, Salishan, Depoe Bay, Cloverdale and Tillamook. We purchased some delicious cheese and ice cream at the Nestucca Bay Creamery https://nestuccabaycreamery.com/.
Last week Mark & Lynette and Angie & Jim joined us at Dorchester Park for pickleball. We also played multiple days with the Lincoln City Pickleball Club.
Today we hit the outlet mall and made a haul at Columbia Sportwear then had lunch at the Otis Cafe.
We've had a wonderful two weeks here at Neskowin. The cooler weather was a welcome relief from the heat wave that we'd been experiencing inland. It was nice to bake and cook without heating up the motorhome.
Tomorrow we travel down to Whaler's Rest RV and Camping Resort in South Beach.Read more
