    NY Tuesday midday

After the bridge, we headed for the Fulton Street Deli. From my internet research, I had the Seaport Deli in mind, though it looked, based on images on line, that our old favourite had been tarted up a bit over the last 8 years.
But never fear, I don't tend to frequent places that are likely to get tarted up. And so it was. "150 Market" on Fulton Street is exactly the same as it was last time. Exactly. The flavoured cona coffee, the big fridges with salads and other food, the seating area heated by the exhaust from the fridges - hadn't changed a bit. Mane the name? I have some recollection that it was Seabreeze before.....
We opted not to take the sauna but instead went to McDonalds for a coke and the wifi.
Along the way we noticed that the electronic shop near the park had been demolished. There seem to be more brand name shops in the area too.

    NY Tuesday Morning

    Brooklyn bridge
When we left the hotel, it was drizzling slightly. So we returned to the room for anoraks.
Now, sitting at City Hall Park, two hours later, the sky has only slips of light cloud. But I still have two anoraks.
Our plan was to take the A or C train to the other side of Brooklyn Bridge. From there we would walk back. This would mean we got all the views for half the walking.
However, MTA had other plans. both the A and the C were cancelled. The note made it very clear the C was out, but the A referee to 207th street and Jay St. It took me a while to see that 207 is at the tip of Manhattan and Jay is over on Brooklyn. So effectively no A train for us.
We adjusted out plans and surfaced at the city hall side of Brooklyn Bridge. We walked over and then walked back. The skyline has changed a bit in the last 8 years, with many new glass & steel buildings.
There was a police presence on the bridge, which we hadn't noticed on previous crossings.

    Wall Street

June 13, 2017 in the United States

El distrito financiero del mundo. El enigmático y robusto edificio de la Reserva Federal rodeado de algunos parques pequeños y la Trinity Church, una de las iglesias católicas más antiguas con su antiguo cementerio al aire libre.
