      Disney Adventure Park

      December 19, 2018 in the United States ⋅ ☀️ 22 °C

Up and on the go again. All a bit slow but once we were in the park and saw Cars Land, we forgot our aches and pains. It is just like in the movie I was just in awe of it. Every little detail has something to do with cars- planter boxes, fences. Kids went on a roller coaster, I skipped that one. Went on a water ride which we all got wet, but Kellie copped the bulk of it.🤣🤣Her shoes were squelching as we walked out. Decided to go again before we dried off. After the second ride I don't think Kellie had a dry patch on her. Paid $5 for the dryer but didn't really help as she was dripping. While we had lunch and sat in the sun, she had her socks and shoes off trying to dry off. We had a casual afternoon, watched a bit of character dancing, learnt how to draw Goofy. We waited for the neon lights to be turned on in Radiator Springs. After, we walked down to Bubba Gump Shrimp for tea. 6.30pm we are bed.Read more

      More Cars, and beer!

      July 6, 2018 in the United States ⋅ ☀️ 36 °C

Day 3 of our Disneyland Park fun had us revisit California Adventure Park. Once again we headed straight to Cars Land to get Fastpasses for Radiator Springs Racers. We then made a beeline for The Collectors Store at Guardians of the Galaxy. We were on the hunt for Groot. We left with one Groot and new shirts for Corey, Isaac and Oliver. Corey could not convince anyone to go on the Guardians ride again. We headed over to Flo’s V-8 Café in Cars Land for some breakfast. We rode Radiator Springs Racers and Goofy’s Sky School. I rode the Incredicoaster and Soarin’ Around the World. We again decided to end our park fun and head back to the hotel. Enroute we stopped for lunch at Splitsville in Downtown Disney. After some time at the pool we got ready and took a cab to the Anaheim Brewery. Jen and Corey enjoyed some beers. We had dinner next door at Umami Burger. After dinner our waitress Amanda arranged a Lyft to take us back to Disney California Adventure Park where we watched the Paint the Night Parade. After the parade we explored the lights of Cars Land before once again heading back to our hotel. Another busy fun-filled day.Read more

      The mouse’s west coast house.

      July 4, 2018 in the United States ⋅ ☀️ 25 °C

Ok Mickey, Minnie and Walt’s whole gang, we are ready to check out your west coast digs.

      What brought us here?
Well, first it was the kids (sort of…), second it was Cars Land, and third it was us (because of the kids and Cars Land). Disney’s Cars movie felt like such a significant part of our lives as our boys were growing up, especially with Isaac. Lightning McQueen and Mater were staples around our house. We watched the movie, had the toys, watched the movie, had the Halloween costume, watched the movie, got more toys, watched the movie and loved it every time! The chance to visit Cars Land was something we could not pass up (hopefully the kids like it as much as Mommy and Daddy will).

Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Buzz, McQueen, from the classics to the modern we are here to see it all at Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park.

      What happened here?
Our first day of park fun was spent at Disney California Adventure Park. Our alarm went off at 6 am to get us up and ready to head to the park for guest resort Magic Hour (resort guests get park access 1 hour before the park opens to the public at 8 am). Our first stop was the Fastpass station for Radiator Springs Racers. Once we had those in hand we enjoyed some breakfast at Flo’s V-8 Café. Sitting there, in this real-world of make-believe, it was quite an experience. We were literally in Radiator Springs! This was one of the moments we were waiting for. During the day we enjoyed numerous rides including Guardians of the Galaxy Mission Breakout, Pixar Pal-A-Round Ferris Wheel and Toy Story Midway Mania… but we all agreed our favourite was Radiator Springs Racers in Cars Land. We also got to see Mater, Groot, Captain America and Red (the fire engine from Cars).
Late in the afternoon we headed back to the hotel for some pool time and the 4th of July Bar-b-q Extravaganza (food, music and fireworks.) Long, busy, exciting, tiring, hot, amazing day!

DYK: Typically July 4th is the busiest day of the year at Disney Parks.

      Disney California adventure park

      July 25, 2017 in the United States ⋅ ⛅ 26 °C

Another fun day is starting! We are in the Paradise Pier hotel, and the Disneyland parks are close by so we can walk to the theme parks. One is the Disney California adventure and another one is Disneyland. We went to the Disney California adventure park today. Firstly, we rode the “Guardians of the Galaxy Mission: BREAKOUT!”ride. I was really scared before we went on the ride but it was really fun! It was a lift ride with seat belts and the lift goes up and down. When it is going down you can feel gravity lifting your legs up to your waist!
After that we went to the Grizzly river run ride, the the Cars radiator springs racer ride, the Toy story midway mania ride, the Goofy sky school (this ride was really jerky) and the Cars coffee cups. Maya was not feeling well so she went back to the hotel with daddy after the Toy story ride.
It was a really fun day and tomorrow we are going to Disneyland.

      Disney Dag 2

      May 23, 2015 in the United States ⋅ ⛅ 19 °C

Erg leuk.

Rond half 7 zaten we in de auto richting het hotel in Palm Springs, waar we omstreeks 21:00 arriveerden.Terugkijkend op een paar leuke dagen vielen we vrij snel in slaap.

      Disney California Adventure

      June 17, 2008 in the United States ⋅ ☀️ 27 °C

Time to go to Disney California Adventure. Unlike Disneyland park little we knew about what was waiting for us here.

To our pleasure the park was totally different to Disneyland, the themes were more according to recent times and based on Pixar movies (bugs, Toy story etc, etc) The park was also far less crowded but still we use Ridemax, especially for the big thrills where we had to make turns with my wife because Ximena wasn't allowed.

After passing under a mini replica of the Golden bridge we booked in fast pass "Soaring over California" and then to The Paradise Pier section of the park, we rode the Golden Zephyr and Jumping Jelly fish, good rides for Ximena's age and then I jumped in the Orange Stinger.

Moving along Paradise Pier we were a bit skeptical to do the Mailboomer but enjoy the time looking at people screaming. We kept going and pass under the tracks of the main roller coaster, one of us had to give it a go and this time Yovanna was the lucky one, we of course booked in fast pass as the line was quite long.

Lots of people and TV around the area due to the opening of a new section called Toy Story mania or something similar. We didn't miss the TV cameras and then went to the King Triton's carousel.

We had to rushed back for "Soaring over California" we had booked in Fast pass. Ximena was a bit scared when we were lifted off the ground but managed it ok. Overall the ride was not too bad but I expected more........

Time to have some lunch and then to wait for Yovanna to go "California Screamin'.... To kill sometime we went to the Grizzly river run but waiting time was close to two hours, no way............ we just passed the time looking at people in the river rapids.

Time for Yovanna to go for the roller coaster, this must be one of the longest I have ever seen with over 2 minutes, and starts with a really fast acceleration. Unfortunately Yovanna didn't follow the instructions and put her head down at the beginning of the ride so she was unable to lift her head up again and ended up completely dizzy swearing not to get on a roller coaster again.

Okay I wanted to do a bit of Coasting too so I took Ximena to Mulholland Madness, she was tall enough for the ride so off we went.

Time to go to Pixar parade, much better than Disneyland's one. The characters were more recent including Ratatouille, the Incredibles, Finding Nemo, Monsters Inc etc etc.

After the parade we killed the rest of the afternoon at "Bug" section of the park, ideal for little kids like Ximena.

My judgement of this park 8/10, definitely more value for money than Disneyland park.

      Disney: Day 1

      September 9, 2016 in the United States ⋅ ☀️ 26 °C

We had booked character dining with Chip & Dale at 07:15am - admittedly not by choice (only time left) but it turned out to be loads of fun and got us in the Disney spirit!

We decided to visit Disney's California Adventure park first then head over to the main park later on.

We had been told at check in, the ride at Hollywood Tower of Tower would be having some changes made to it on the Friday night so to get on it before it changes, so we made a beeline for there first of all.

We grabbed ourselves a FastPass and had quick wander around before heading back to the ride.

Now Adam said he hadn't felt right all day and has suffered from vertigo since we arrived, started to feel much worse after the ride. A drink and some shade later, he felt okay enough to ride the wooden-style rollercoaster.

He wasn't feeling so great afterwards and don't look so great either. I suggested we came back to the hotel and he lay down which he did. I did some research on the NHS website and think it may have been heat exhaustion (it was 29°c by 10am) combined with the vertigo and the rides made for an unhappy Adam.

A few hours rest later, a sandwich and lots of water later, he seemed to feel okay bit we adjusted our plans slightly by going back to California Adventure.

We then dashed to the main park in time for the 9:30pm fireworks which were amazing!!!

The park was open until midnight so we took time to ride Star Tours (a 3D Star Wars motion simulator), Mr Toad's Wide Ride and, my dad's favourite, It's A Small World.

By now we had serious appetites but it was 1am so headed back to our hotel for a light bite (the only thing going!) in the form of 2 wagyu beef sliders and Adam had mozzarella pizza flat bread before falling into bed about 2am.

      Disney!

      May 6, 2016 in the United States ⋅ ☁️ 15 °C

Today was all about Disney :)
I didn't take too many photos but had a good day.
Park was open from 9-9 (long day!) And we pretty much went on all of the good rides.
I managed to lose my phone so was a bit stressed but luckily it was in lost and found, phew!

We went to the rainforest cafe to eat which was a first for both of us, it was pretty cool in there.

Overall a good but tiring day!

      California Adventure (Disneyland)

      July 22, 2018 in the United States ⋅ ☀️ 29 °C
