Fully replenished we stop for an Ice Cream before heading to the next brewery, this may be a big mistake.

Next one up is The Caledonian Brewing, this was my least favourite (Deb)

Then last but not least we make it to the Soggy Bottom Brewery. This is the nearest to the place where we are staying.

Martin and Mark change from beer to Cider, Pineapple and Peach flavours, this could be a mistake, but we seem fine at the moment.

Now comes the hard bit, crossing 4 lanes of traffic, thank god for traffic lights.

Safely back at the ranch and not too worse for wear we have another drink, well why not, and a couple of games of 'Sorry' before turning in for the night.Read more

Hoje esperámos +1 hora no aeroporto de Boston, porque o nosso avião estava com problemas de manutenção, mas finalmente descolámos rumo a Orlando.

Quando chegámos a Orlando fomos à Avis buscar o carro alugado, um Honda Accord. Fizemos uma viagem de 25 minutos até ao nosso hotel de agora, The Grand Orlando Resort.

Depois de deixarmos as malas nos quartos fomos à piscina do hotel, que tem um escorrega e uma cascata! Depois de um mergulho para refrescar (estavam 31º -> feels like 35º) 🙃 fomos até à Old Town e andámos numa montanha russa e depois fomos jantar ao Applebee's. Quando chegámos de novo ao hotel ainda fomos outra vez à piscina, mas desta vez à piscina aquecida! Também queríamos experimentar o jacuzzi, mas estava cheio...

Agora vamos descansar para amanhã irmos ao Epcot!Read more

Oldtown Carmeeting Teil 2

Heute geht es noch einmal zum Carmeeting nach Oldtown. Wie bereits letzte Woche, ist das Treffen eins der ältesten in den USA mit wöchentlicher Ausfahrt. Diese Ausfahrt begrenzt sich allerdings auf die kleine Shoppingmeile in der einmal rauf und runter gefahren wird. Immer wieder genial zu sehen wie viel Liebe zum Detail in die Autos gesteckt wird, teils auch von Herrschaften im fortgeschrittenen Alter. In der Dunkelheit und im Glanze der Scheinwerfer immer wieder ein besonderes Erlebnis.Read more

We*re on our way

Well after booking, cancelling, 're-arranging Fit To Fly testing we are finally on our way to Florida with Fiona and Mark.
The taxi arrived on time to take us to Manchester airport. Good journey with light traffic. After expecting long queues and extra security checks for booking in passport control we were pleasantly surprised with how smoothly and quickly it was done, leaving plenty of time for shopping and breakfast.
The flight was mostly smooth and with all the drinks and food service and in flight entertainment passed quickly, we landed an hour early, (this was then wasted queuing for the car.)
After landing and again what seemed to be no extra security checks we picked up the car and started out journey to the villa.
The villa is beautiful and very comfortable, Fiona and Mask are so happy to be back and I can understand why.
A quick unpack and then out for a meal at Manny"a a favourite haunt for Fiona and Mark and what an experience it was. Huge beers, tender steaks and a never ending salad bowl.
Back to the villa to bed , around 3.30 English time.Read more

Sometimes It Hertz

Today is going to be a lazy day to get over the travelling of last week.

Martin goes to check out some golf courses, Fi and Mark have a man come to talk about roof tiles and I chill out with a book by the pool.

After lunch Mark goes out to check the car will start ready for tonight.

Oh no flat as a preferable fart again, and so the saga starts. Fi gets on the phone to Hertz car rental, explains what has happened and how we'd had the same problem yesterday. They would send out the AAA to check the battery Fi said that's not good enough. After over an hour and us saying we were not prepared to drive to the airport to pick up a new car, which could have taken us anything up to 3 hours, they finally agreed to deliver a new vehicle to us at no charge, should be there in 2-3 hours.

Eventually after about 4 hours and 2, more phone calls plus the AAA man telling us the battery was knackered the new vehicle arrived.

How Fi managed to keep her temper, especially after being hung up on, I will never know if a true star..

Unfortunately due to the late delivery of said vehicle our dinner plans had to change so we went to Rock Brews a restaurant playing'rock band' videos and sports channels, very different but good.

Let's hope the new car starts in the morning.

Outdoor World

Today Martin is playing golf at White Heron so Fi, Mark and myself are going to the outlets stores at International Drive.

We started at the outlets but apart from shoes for me and new Trainers for Mark we didn't have much success.

We then drove to Outdoor World, possibly the largest shop I have ever been in, they give you a map so you can find your way around.

Clothing, Shoes, Fishing equipment, Guns and Ammunition, Camping equipment and Boats plus lots of other stuff.Read more

Epcot, part 2

Next was 'Living With The Land' where we floated along in a boat learning about how the growing of food is evolving and how Disney are helping with new methods of food production, including growing vegetables without soil and in upright flower beds to save space. All the food grown is then served in the park's restaurants.

Next up was 'The Seas, with Nemo'. We sat in giant shell's and floated along through an underground aquarium with commentary and added animation from Nemo.

Onwards to 'Mission Space' our last 'big' ride. This is where we split up with Martin and Mark heading for a trip to Mars with excessive movement and G Force involved, needless to say Martin felt a bit queesy afterwards. Fiona and me head for a shuttle trip around the earth.Read more

Lavender and Lace

After a light breakfast Fiona a I went shopping in search of new plastic tableware for the villa.
We then took a drive to Lake Alfred to a lovely tea room called Lavender and Lace.
The house where it is situated was beautifully decorated with floral swags and glittery Christmas decorations and hundreds of cups, saucers and tea pots.
The meal we had was beautifully presented and very tasty and the cakes was fabulous.Read more

International Drive

After the Outdoor World shop we drove down International Drive, a long road and one either sides were shop, bars, restaurants, hotels and rides such as a big wheel, an reverse bungie jump.

We also drove past what is reputedly the largest McDonald's in the world, Ripley's Believe It Or Not, The Upside Down House, we could also see Volcano Bay, the water park for Universal Studios.

Back home and Martin is waiting for us after a good game of golf, a dip in the pool and pizza and salad for tea.Read more

Breakfast at Egg City

Today we have woken up to quite thick cloud again so our plans of chilling by the pool and soaking up the rays don't look like happening.

We went to a real American Diner called Egg City for breakfast. It's a very popular place Fi ordered an omelette with potatoes, Mark had similar to English Breakfast. Martin and me decided to share an omelette with potatoes and a stack of Blueberry Pancakes. There was way too much.

After breakfast Martin went for a walk, Mark stayed at home to start the cleaning and Fiona and I went to get some souvenirs.

On the way back the skies turned black and the lightening started, next we had monsoon conditions which made driving difficult but Fiona coped well even with a very nervous passenger.Read more
Deb was so nervous and no way was I going to say it was a bit scary, she'd have been worse still......rain rain go away.......within an hour we had the heat and sun return!⛈️⚡️⚡️🌫🌧🌞 [Fiona]
