Kauai ❤️- more West is East...

Wow what a day. We arrived yesterday at Kauai and checked in into our hotel. The weather forecast was bad - anyway we decided to go to the Waimea Canyon and what we found was just amaaaaaazing. The canyon really looks like Grand Canyon with the big difference that there are no tourists. Every spot is empty and when there are some visitors you can go 50 steps and you are alone again. So many Hikes and Trails. We had a break at Kokee Lodge with some local foods and great locals who played their Music. It was a big come together and it felt so good. Last but not least we went all the way up to the lookout point of Kalalau and Pu'u o Klia and wow. May the most scenic Overview of our Lives and again a lot of Spots and Hikes and Trails and it felt like being in Heaven. We realized that we will never go more west from home as this points. All other points will call east. Very cool to know to be on very very last West Point...

On the way back we went to Baby beach to see the sun downer and went to Koloa were you can find a beautiful small village with food trucks , restaurants and Shops.- very cool😎

It was perfect day. Kauai is even after one day one of our all time Favorites..Read more

Grand Canyon auf hawaiianisch

Das Wetter soll in den nächsten Tagen immer schlechter werden, und nachts wird es auch gefühlt kühler. Also haben wir beschlossen, noch schnell alles zu erleben, was wir ohne Regen machen wollen.

Heute stand eine Wanderung im "Grand Canyon von Hawaii" auf dem Programm – dem beeindruckenden Waimea Canyon. Das Ziel? Ein Wasserfall! Die Realität? Nun ja, nennen wir es lieber einen ambitionierten Rinnsal. Aber der Weg dorthin war trotzdem spektakulär!

Nach der Wanderung gönnten wir uns ein Picknick am Strand, inklusive Sonnenuntergang und … kulinarischer Grenzerfahrung. Auf dem Menü: äußerst fragwürdige Nudeln mit Taco-Sauce aus der Dose, dazu geschredderte Hühnerfetzen (eine Art Separatorenfleisch) aus der Dose mit Schmelzkäse. Prost Mahlzeit! Ein Hoch auf die Campingküche!

Aber morgen steht etwas ganz Besonderes an – eine kleine Überraschung! 😉Read more

Next we headed to Waimea canyon, there are lots of spots along the way to pull over and admire the views, also a few big 'proper' lookouts. We headed for some of the furthest spots so we could make our way back for our sail this afternoon. The canyon is so beautiful, lots of colours and goats! Cute little goats jumping around. Kauai is the oldest of the Hawaiian islands which explains the canyon, much more time for erosion from old rivers and wind etc. We wound our way slowly back down the mountains, stopping in and out of spots for more photos. Also got our first sunburn, swapped bags over this morning and forgot to grab the sunscreen, whoops!Read more
