    Natural Bridge 3

    August 13, 2019 in the United States ⋅ ⛅ 30 °C

This footprint says 86, that must be in the shade! Super hot and humid here. By the time we reached the waterfall .75miles in (after passing the bridge, an Indian village and two caves!), you can see we could hardly smile, but trust us we were having fun! Patrick asked to take off his shirt on the way back. Don’t blame him!

Of course we had to take pictures at the visitor center on the way back to the RV and then we saw a Trek America van and thought of you, Uncle Dave!

    Natural Bridge, VA-Nat Brg/Lexington KOA

    June 20, 2019 in the United States ⋅ ☁️ 27 °C

Here we are back to Natural Bridge, VA. On February 15, this was only the second stop on our 2019 trip, as we hastily headed south to escape the cold and snow. 125 days later we find ourselves back, but this time enjoying a more leisurely pace and with much warmer weather. The campground is now full of vacationers, enjoying a camping adventure. You can tell it's vacation time with families enjoying the pool. Bah Humbug! (just kidding) Time to go home and enjoy Homeside Park.

We did enjoy a good dinner at a local family restaurant that we have been to on prior trips, the Pink Cadillac Diner. The name does suggest a certain diner theme. Yes, "Elvis" is in the building and he drove his pink Cadillac. Besides dinner, the Pink Cadillac Diner offers a couple of dozen ice cream flavors at the adjoining ice cream parlor. One night for dinner, two nights for ice cream.

    Shenandoah part 2

    November 10, 2017 in the United States ⋅ 🌙 0 °C

I got an early start to the day and got right to hiking. I decided I should do several small hikes instead of one long one so that I could see more of the park. I started with a nice easy 2 mile hike in the morning. Then I went to a short trail. It wasn't so much a hike as a mile long rock scramble. It was so much fun. There wasn't a real trail, it was just a bunch of boulders on the mountain you climbed up until you reached the top where there was a magnificent panoramic view of Fall in Virginia. It was so much fun. Rock scrambling is the best. It wasn't that far but it was exhausting. Nevertheless I persisted. I went on another hike that ended up being much longer than I anticipated because I got a little lost. Their trail signs are terrible and inconsistent. But it was a nice hike that went down to a waterfall. I put my face in it. That hike was pretty strenuous. My legs ached after all the scrambling. Then I drove a couple hours down the blue ridge parkway. It's so pretty. I'm loving this whole fall thing. I mean the leaves change colors in Cali but not like this. As I was driving down the sun started to set and it was just gorgeous. Them colors.

    More adventures tomorrow!
