Take me out to a ball game

      May 13, 2018 in the United States ⋅ ⛅ 27 °C

Happy mother's day. Kristia and Elisa organised a outing out to a baseball game for mothers day. Fayettville is home to University of Arkansas and the Razorback Hogs. This is the last series in the normal season and game 3 against Texas A &M.

It was a very HOT and sunny day as we sat in the Hog pen. You bring your own seats, and most people brought there own food and drink to have a bbq, which picnic tables and bbq s provided, first come, first serve. Kristia had never been to a game and none of us had any idea what to expect.

All and all, it was a pretty boring game, with the Razorbacks winning 6 to 1. The kids seemed to have fun, and Josh and the kids even made it on the ESPN as they played baseball with the little souvenir bats and ball that kristia bought them. (Mavericks teacher told him on Monday that she saw him on ESPN).

That night, josh cooked hamburgers, as that is what Kristia requested. The kids ate ice cream peacefully and was a relatively relaxed dinner. Bedtime was early as mav and Charlie had school in the morning.

      Day with Shari

      September 26, 2022 in the United States ⋅ ☀️ 68 °F

We all enjoy slow mornings at Chris's. Coffee on the patio, while waiting for dogs to do their morning business.
Shari joined us mid morning and we all enjoyed catching up with each other. She, Andy and Abby had been at KU to join Kate for parents weekend. Plus Abby had a soccer game Saturday morning in Oklahoma....
We had some lunch here at Chris's and then puttered around the house. Neither Chris and I can't actually remember what we accomplished, but I am sure it was a lot! Since we were planning on having dinner with the Heinzelmanns we did have dinner items to prep. We took our food stuffs and had a nice barbecue in their backyard with a view of the city. We tried to get their dogs to play with Charlie, but the dogs were a "no go". The rest of us did get along very nicely! 😀

      Memorial Day in Fayetteville

      May 31, 2021 in the United States ⋅ ☁️ 63 °F

Restful day at Chris's... weather is gray, and while it is cool, it is also humid. It turns out I really have very frizzy hair, and I always thought I had straight hair?!
Chris's "girls" began to grudgingly accept Auggie... she has 2, Romy a darling tiny pomeranian mix and Zoe a fiesty, also darling, malti-poo! Introductions yesterday were challenging. We sort of "burst" into the house with Auggie, and the girls went crazy! While Romy had a little puff of a bark, Zoe has a bark that "will be heard". Which of course sets Auggie off with his big bark. Deafening...
It took about an hour of sitting quietly with all 3 dogs to get them to agree to cohabitate for the duration of our visit.....while studiously ignoring each other.
Spent most of the day catching up on laundry, all our clothes, towels, linens and bedspread.

Headed over to Shari and Andy's for a memorial day barbecue in the 🌧! But with their big covered patio we still got to enjoy the evening! They had most of the family over, Rick and Michelle with Safi and Rhett, and of course their girls, Kate and Abby. Had another noisy greeting as Auggie got to know Shep and Aspen.

Even in the rain Rhett and Safi took to the swimming pool which upset Auggie. Auggie was frantic to let hem know it was "wet" in the pool, and in his attempts to get them out, fell in himself!

      Bentonville and Ford Dealership

      June 1, 2021 in the United States ⋅ 🌧 61 °F

Well....today was about getting the RV into a Ford dealer to be looked at. On the way into Fayetteville we noticed that the unit seemed to be backfiring and losing power as we were going uphill. Since we came into town on Memorial day weekend we couldn't do anything about until Tuesday. Took it into the Fayetteville dealership, who then pointed us to the Bentonville dealership, which actual works on RVs.
Drove up to Bentonville (about 30 miles north) in a pretty good rain and checked the RV. They were a little unsure when they could "get to it", but said they would do their best. Unfortunately that meant Frank would need to stay in the RV at the dealership. This trip has been a challenge for him. He practically lives in the closet, except at night...
Met Chris for late breakfast back in Fayetteville and then spent the day at her house following up with some computer time. We did also had to Hobby Lobby to find a frame for the picture of Pompa for her office and worked on rehanging some items so we could hang the McCoon watercolor painting of Nonnys that we brought with us.
Delicious pork tenderloin for dinner and bed...

      Cooking, cleaning and packing

      September 28, 2022 in the United States ⋅ 🌙 70 °F

Weather is gorgeous right now in Fayetteville, even humidity is lower. We originally thought we might leave today, but my "to do" list has only one or two items checked done!
Wednesday I took Tom over you Shari's house (that's where the RV was parked) so he could do some cleaning. Chris and I had some morning errands, CVS, grocery, dry cleaning...after lunch she "unwillingly" pulled herself into her office to do some work and I started cooking. Made a dozen bierocks for the road and also prepped some taco meat. By dinner time we all felt like we had a productive day, my favorite feeling at wine time. We had some warmed up bierocks and salad for dinner.
Thursday was my revised d day of departure...but gosh darn my check list didn't look very promising, so we decided to stay another day. We all laughed about it, we just couldn't seem to leave. So I finally got all my finances done, some email, and a finally load of laundry since we had been there so long. The afternoon we loaded all our stuff into Chris's car and took it over to the RV and packed it up for a Friday departure. One last dinner with Chris, steak and potatoes!

      Visit with Aunt Chris

      May 1, 2023 in the United States ⋅ ☀️ 64 °F

The next several entries are sort of a multiple day "catch up" entries, so the details will be vague! Monday was our last drive day before arriving at Fayetteville. Just maintained our course, East on 40....quick lunch break somewhere out in the middle of nowhere, Loves Truck stop and they actually had a fenced soutth park Soo Charlie could be off leash!
Pulled into Chris's house about 3:30pm, RV and all. We unloaded some of our overnight items, puppy stuff, and took RV over to Shari's.
Back to Chris's and we all met Shari and Abby at Eastside Grille for great dinner ands conversation. (No pics!)
