    Beach Day

    Mit den girls Phoebe und Laura mit denen ich schon gestern gechillt habe morgens leckeren Kaffee getrunken. Danach gings zum Schneider um mir ein tolles outfit machen zu lassen. Danach Fahrräder ausgeliehen und Pheobe die in ein Resort am Strand umgezogen ist zum Strand gefolgt. Frischer Passionsfrucht Saft und Meeresrauschen brachte so richtiges "Urlaubsgefühl" hervor.

    Abends gab es einen Frühlingsrollen Kochkurs. Lecker!

    Day 11 Hoi An

    After breakfast we rented scooters and met Eggi&Theresa to hit the road. First we drove to An Bang Beach northwest of Hoi An. Driving is quite easy, just use the horn and then you can pass other vehicles. Traffic is less here so it is possible to drive even as beginner. Handling a scooter itself can be a challenge sometimes. At the beach we jumped into the wild sea with big waves. Once we got out of the water we noticed that there was a red flag waving and it was not allowed to swim on that day :-D Later we drove to other beaches and areas. It was raining from time to time and we had to hide from it. On the way back to town Nonni's scooter broke down, so Christi had to carry him. In the afternoon we had a fitting appointment at the tailor. After we were all happy with the result we went on to have a late lunch. It was raining cats and dogs, so we had to run to a restaurant. As it got better we took again the scooters and drove around the town until it got dark. We went for a shopping run and then had dinner. Again it was raining and we had to bridge over the time with a beer until we had to see goodbye to Eggi&Theresa.Read more

    Wir haben eine Fahrradtour mit allem möglichen Schnickschnack gebucht, aber wegen dem Feiertag ging irgendwie alles schief. Statt mit Fahrrad werden wir mit Moped abgeholt, was ja ganz witzig ist und wir so gleich noch eine andere Seite von Hoi An sehen. Am Fluss steigen wir ins Körbchen und werden auf interessante Art umhergepaddelt. Dazu gibts Gebastel, Späßchen, Krabben fischen und Idylle! Alles ganz nett.
    Als wir, wieder am Ufer, um 9.15 Uhr unser Lunch essen sollen, kommt uns die Sache komisch vor. Wir wollen das nicht und fragen nach unseren Fahrrädern und vor allem nach unserem Guide. Niemand weiß genau Bescheid, es gibt Telefonate und Diskussionen. Um die Sache kurz zu machen: wir beenden den Ausflug und lassen uns wieder ins Hotel fahren.

    Surprisingly Eventful Journey to Class!

    One of the this has I wanted to do when I left for travelling is take a cooking class in every country I went to. Thailand I did, then Laos and Cambodia I didnt. Laos because the food was very similar to Thai just not as nice and Cambodia I just didn't get around to it although the Lok Lak is delish. Vietnam it was happening for sure and Josh, a culinary expert, wanted to do one as well so we booked it and went off.

    We met our guide and she immediately named us Ping & Ming (I think!) which meant baby and hero (she said...) obviously I was hero 💪

    Anyway it was just the two of us and she took us away on a boat along the river where I saw fishing nets blowing in the wind and I don't why but it looked really beautiful. We soon stopped and switched into a bowl boat made from bamboo which Josh and I wearing our token rice hat's were paddling very poorly until the boatman took over and our guide was laughing at us. He then stopped and showed us how to make a fricking grasshopper from the long grass growing out of the water, flax I think? It was pretty impressive although I couldn't tell you now how it's done. He carried on through the waterways with long grass all around us and finally broke through into this beautiful little area with a small lake and an outdoors cooking area. We had arrived.

    Cooking Class

    While we were here we learnt how to make a Vietnamese summer roll properly so that you could see the prawns after it was wrapped. Banh Xea which is a fried rice pancake with shrimp, chilli, onion egg and some other things, banana leaf salad and roast pork and noodles and Vietnamese dipping sauce which goes well I with anything and is hot hot! Just the way I like it! All of which we got to enjoy and was delicious if I do say so myself. We also went fishing with a bamboo rod, string and hook, the most basic fishing rod ever but we managed to catch a few. It was a really fun day out and I think Ping would agree on that!Read more
