    October 17, 2016 in Australia ⋅ 🌙 10 °C

    ___

It's truely much prettier out here than in the city!
We've got a cristal clear sky full of stars, once again the moon is so bright we wouldn't even need a torch! And of course, the reason we came here - lots of wombats are around here!!

    Sydney - 13.10. -16.10.

    October 13, 2016 in Australia ⋅ ⛅ 16 °C

    ________

The first evening in Sydney we went to a presentation from a National Geographic underwater photographer in the concert hall of the sydney opera house!!
Thomas Peschak and his works were even more impressive to us than the operahouse itself!!
In his pictures he shows the beauty of the oceans but also the horrors created by man...

On the other days we enjoyed a lot of good restaurants and bakerys and also the sunny weather. We walked across the Harbour Bridge, took the ferry to drive around the Harbour and roamed through the Royal Botanic Gardens.

    Lammington np

    October 11, 2016 in Australia ⋅ ☁️ 18 °C

    Bild 5: Regent Bowerbird
    Bild 6: Crimson Rosella
    ------

A very curvy street led us up to Lamington national park. We walked the tree canopy walk and saw a couple of birds and small kangaroos.
The highlights of the day were the Regent Bowerbird. They tried to pick the food right out of our hands and weren't shy at all. Most likely some poeple fed them before and now they think they can do as they like.

    _____

We've done some sightseeing - Brisbane is a interesting city with a pretty and very big park (roma street gardens).
There were more animals than humans - very pleasant for us!

In the evening we drove to Keith - we met him in Darwin on a campgroind and he invited us to visit him.
After telling lots of stories we went to his "home cinema" and watched a movie :) (the screen was almost as big as some in a cinema in Winterthur :) )

Mir hend zämme Znacht gesse und ganz viel z bespräche gha - s isch sehr en lustige und spannende Aabig gsi! :) Mir sind scho lang nümm so spat is Bett!

Am nechste Tag simmer all Zämme is Hinterland, ine Chäserei go Raclette ässe und zabig hemmer Fondue gmacht! En richtige Schwiizertag :)
Bim Five crowns spiele hemmer gäg oisi zwei erfahrene Gägner leider kei chance gha...

    _____

We got invited by Marcel and Trudy to stay at their apartment in Caloundra. Marcel and Trudy are friends of Sandras grandparents and have been living in Australia for about 10 years.

We had dinner and talked the whole evening about our jourmeys and excperiences in Australia (and of course some other stuff ;) ). It was very interesting and funny with them - we didn't go to bed so late for a long time ;)

The next day we visited the Glasshouse Mountains, the Hinterland and a cheesery, where we ate raclette and bought our dinner: Fondue! Yummy.

Thank you soo much for your amazing hospitality! (even though you haven't seen Sandra in about 15 years!)
We really enjoyed these two days with you!

    Wolf Rock Dive

    October 6, 2016 in Australia ⋅ ☀️ 23 °C

Mir sind widermal go tauche!

    _____

So, we went diving again. This time in a very special place called "Wolf Rock". It is home to a lot of grey nurse sharks. These 2.5 meter sharks look more frightning then they actually are. But thats probably something you only realize when you go down there yourself and see how peaceful they are.
There were about a dozen of them all around us. Some were resting on the ground, while others would maybe swim curiously towards us to have a close look and then turn back and head off again.

Besides the face to face encounter with the sharks, we saw an eagle- and a Mantaray gracefully flying through the water. The 21 degrees cold water ^^.

We were also impressed by our diving instructor Kevin, who has been diving his whole live. I (Jan) have never seen a diving instructor taking his job so seriously.
