Like most countries Burundi has had it's sad times but the country is now at peace. Even so that peace is maintained with a military presence around the city. There is even personnel around with handRead more
It all started with a 13hr flight from JFK, then a 4.5 he airport sit in Nairobi before an hour and a half flight to Burjumbura.
Over looking the city is a dedication to the country's first president who led Burundi to become independent in 1962.
I'm always impressed with human ingenuity in Africa. This act takes skills.
An expensive outing $100 for 45m boat ride. Original plan was to do hiking but heavy rain overnight made trails impossible and almost broke the bank.. 🙄
Boat motor and gasoline is locked up in storage until need.. Then wheel barreled to locked boat as needed.
This area of the river is fed all the way from the Congo and today is moving at pretty fast clip.
Pretty modern and seemly well built.
Don't lie.. or it will just be a bunch of Croc..🤪
We spot a lot of Hippo's mostly along the river's edge. However, they rapidly disappear at the sound of us approaching.
