    Erstes mal am Meer 💦🪁

    March 31 in Bulgaria ⋅ ☁️ 11 °C

    Warna

    October 27, 2019 in Bulgaria ⋅ ⛅ 16 °C

After a few thousand kilometers I made it to the Black Sea in Varna. Once there, I became acquainted with Gabi's grandparents and was cordially invited to an excellent dinner. The rest of the time I spent with my old friend Marc, who pretends to study here in a paradisiac environment of beach bars and numerous stands offering freshly squeezed fruit juices. With a workout in an authentic Bulgarian cellar gym and wellness right on the Black Sea coast, I have strengthened myself for very little money physically and mentally for the onward journey.Read more

Roman bath is quite impressive and huge. I was the only tourist walking through it and enjoyed the quietness in the end of the city.

As I still have time until 7 pm, I continue my walk and stop by a bar called Mono Loco, a Mexican bar.

so today after my big walk to the city at 6 o’clock, there was the planed start of the general rehearsal of Catharina. I went to the Theatre around 540 and it was very surprised they started the rehearsal at 6 pm.

From the repetition yesterday I couldn’t guess that it’s so beautiful, costumes are beautiful and the story is very diverse. I enjoyed seeing it very much, even though I didn’t see too much through the camera.

I continued down to the beach. I walked in the park primorski for a while and went into by the beach. I had my second déjà vu because after paying I went to the toilet and got a recall that it was the last time also in that bar.

    Archelogical Museum Varna

    April 25 in Bulgaria ⋅ ☀️ 21 °C

after deciding between plane and train to Sophia, I bought my Internet a train ticket €25 the plane would have been € 40. The plane takes 15 minutes the train nearly 9 hours. Now the ticket isn’t processing and I’m told that it may take up to 1 day. So I’m waiting.

I was already in varna two years ago but I missed this museum. I didn’t think it was so cool, but following some posters on the roads I decide to visit it. And it’s very worth to visit, especially the pre-Christ time when they had the big golden discoveries. The museum is very beautifully made it well worse. It took me about an hour in the first level in the same level about 50 minutes because I was not too much interested in the Roman history and church history.

    Evening out in Warna

    April 24 in Bulgaria ⋅ 🌙 14 °C

after having some time after being at the opera hours of varna I decided to walk a bit to the evening and nightly Cetty. First I went down to the harbour walked around the little bit went into a restaurant. I was two years ago and just planned to have a beer but finally I ended up with chicken wings. First I thought it’s quite expensive for chicken wings €7 but when they came I knew it was not expensive they were just huge about 350 g.

I left the restaurant around 830 and start my stroll along the shoreline first passing the public swimming pool which is quite cool area and then went further on passing the casino and went up to hotel Cherno More. I thought Thursdays evenings it is much much more busy but the bar is empty.. Then I thought I go home to the hotel but decided to walk up to the cathedral. There are some pictures and then walking down another road and found out the Irish pub and the whiskey tasting was already two years ago. I didn’t take any beer or risky. I just went to the hotel and prepare the photos for the dancers at two and went to sleep.

    A day at tho Opera

    April 24 in Bulgaria ⋅ ☀️ 17 °C

after I did my Russian classes with Elena I went 12:30 to the Opera house. When I ended the service entrance, I wanted to call for Bahydgan Smagulov but he was just coming out of the opera house. He explained me how it works a bit and then he gave me his token to get in and out of the opera house. Wow nice.

We went up the stairs to the very top where the Ballet training happens and I must admit it’s quite a small room. And it’s the only. Bahydgan explain me why: the Opera house was not planned neither for opera or for Ballet it was just planned for drama. And then sometime a new director came and thought it’s a good idea to have Ballet but especially to do travels. As it is good money. The quality of the dance is quite high I like them and some like Mara or Andrea I met in mind at the Starballett . Also, he explained me that the Ballett competition varna has nothing to do with the Oprah house.

The founder of the Ballet competition varna was I have to look up in the late 50s I think Moskau the festival and there was everywhere festival for piano Oprah choirs and so on but none for Ballet. The founder was a Bulgarian and he decided to become varna because of that time already it was to place a lot of people a lot of furnace and probably good money.

I saw two rehearsals one of the piece they show tomorrow and then Sophia and then Don Quixote as well. I just like to take pictures of the rehearsals and sit and watch too.

    Varna for 5 days

    April 23 in Bulgaria ⋅ ☀️ 17 °C

Took the bus 409 from the airport for two Bulgarian lev and in 30 minutes I was in the city centre near the cathedral. Had a quick client into the cathedral, typical orthodox.. Cross the street past the opera and was at my hotel.

Checked in drop my luggage in my room recharge my mobile phone, did my Russian homework and left around 7 pm for a little sighting Tour. Went through the shopping Street down to the sea. Had a small walk at the sea. And returned to the city. I was looking for wine divine and suddenly somebody stopped me. I couldn’t believe this was Irina my Russian teacher from kiew. Philippe my School mate that time, who lives in Brazil but is from Belgium and host it Irina in Brussels told me she might be in Bulgaria. But I never mentioned that I run into her. We had a small talk but I had no intention to invite her for a drink so I just told her that I have to go to someplace and went to the wine bar.

Vine divine is vine bar where you can buy the wines and taste by the glass. So I tried two wines and got always a bit of cheese bit of salami and olives. The white wine was €5 in the red wine was €6.50. I think a good deal especially as the wines were quite good. Just look look at the photos.

Did some shopping brought the shopping to the hotel and went to the golden sheep a brewery. I guess that’s for the evening. I’m quite tired.
