    Könige und Whisky

    Ich habe vor ungefähr einem Jahr einen neuen Klingelton ausgewählt: „Setzling“ heisst der er und ich liebe ihn. Einfach herrlich, so zu erwachen statt einem agressiven „määääh, määääh, määäääh“! :-)

    Heute Morgen, es ist 06h00, wache ich auf - Vogelgezwitscher von der feinsten Art. Einfach nur traumhaft. Ganz langsam erinnere ich mich daran, dass ich den Wecker ausgeschaltet habe. Hmmm. Whats up? Was höre ich da? Es klingt ja wie mein Klingelton… 🤔

    Ich erinnere mich an gestern und ich realisiere ich, dass dieses wunderbare Gezwitscher vom Wald kommt, in dem wir unser Womo hingestellt haben um zu schlafen. Einfach nur herrlich!!! 🫶🏻

    Der heutige Tag soll der nasseste werden. Also machen wir alles sehr bedacht und in Hinblick auf Regen.

    Zuerst geht es wieder an den Stausee mit Wuffis. Es ist kalt, maximal 10° Celsius und ein kalter Wind pfeifft uns um die Ohren. Zum Glück habe ich mein Mütze 🥶 in den Wanderschuhen vergessen - sie leistet mir wunderbare Dienste.

    Unser heutige Ziel ist der Königsee, aber zuerst wollen wir an den Schliersee und dort in die Whisky-Distillerie „SLYRS“.

    Im Abstand von 5 Minuten wechseln sich auch heute Regen 🌧️ und Sonne ☀️ und Peter cruised einwandfrei und souverän durch die engen Kurven hoch und runter.

    Am Schliersee angekommen finden wir die Distillerie - und - sie ist geöffent. Der Shop ist mega schön eingerichtet. Am Eierlikör komme ich nicht vorbei, der Einzianschnaps muss es auch sein und Peter schafft es nicht, den Rum zu ignorieren. 🤦🏻‍♀️

    Ich schau grad auf den Tisch (es ist Abend und wir sind am Schlafplatz) und ich muss gestehen, dass der Eierlikör einfach herrlich lecker ist - und schon halb leer. 🤭

    Aber machen wir erst mal dort weiter, wo ich aufgehört habe, am Schliersee.

    Peter’s Ziel ist der Königsee. Die Landschaft ist herrlich und ich kann mir wohl nur im Ansatz vorstellen, wie es morgen sein wird. Dann, wenn die Sonne aus einem knallblauen Himmel auf uns herunterbrennt.

    Unsere App zur Planung der Schlafplätze heisst „Park4Night“ und sie leistet hervorragende Dienste. Leider sagt sie uns auch, dass wir in Königsee wohl nicht glücklich werden mit dem Stellplatz und siehe da, sie hat Recht! Wir ändern den Plan. Wir fahren noch etwas hoch zur Talstation eines Skilifts und morgen - sehr früh - fahren wir wieder hierher und laufen an den See. Man hat uns gesagt, bei dem angekündigten Wetter und den naturhunrigen Münchnern wird Königssee überrannt. Also - 6 Uhr los und rechtzeitig wieder abhauen. Morgen wissen wir, ob dieser Plan aufgegangen ist.

    Auf der Götschenalm - hier schlafen wir - werden wir fündig. Ein Platz nach unserem Geschmack: Keine Menschen, keine tausend WoMos und viel Platz für Cap und Eddie, damit sie rasen können.

    Nachdem wir nun super leckere Spargeln genossen haben, einen Spaziergang mit Wuffis gemacht haben, werde ich noch online mit meinen Jagdgspänli lernen.

    Danach - und das geht dann ratzifatzi - werde ich einschlafen. Ich bin so müde. Herrlich.

    Ostern in BadTölz. 🐣
    In Jakarta hat die Schule coronabedingt mittlerweile schon einen Monat geschlossen. Wir sind nach Deutschland gereist und irgendwie ist die Welt dort noch in Ordnung, obwohl sich alles wegen 🦠 verändern wird....
    Nach Ostern findet Unterricht online statt und wegen der Zeitverschiebung beginnen die Meetings mitten in der Nacht 😴 Eine anstrengende Zeit beginnt.... Wie es weitergehen wird steht jetzt noch in den Sternen. Wir machen das Beste daraus und die Laune bleibt trotz aller Umstände erhalten....    Read more

    Forggensee Lake, Fussen

    After trying out his school boy German on the bus driver to make sure they were on the right bus, they get off at the Lake. It's a very popular place with lots of locals having picnics by the shore, there was even a group of people there for a baptism in the water. I wouldn't want to be dunked in that it wasn't the cleanest of lakes. There's a good view of the castle from here. By now the sun is really hot so they sit like old folk do taking in the surroundings and watching the paragliding over the mountains in the distance. A short walk back to sit in the sun and relax, it may be a car park but when the sun shines who cares ❤Read more

    Sunday Stroll Around Fussen

    Sunday morning and it's sunnier than we expected after overnight rain but the clouds are still hanging over the mountains. Theym going to attempt to walk into the town, it's only about a mile. Started out and was beginning to think they would have to turn back when her knee started to protest. They should have got the bikes out as the cycle path is flat and goes straight into town. Anyhow it became easier and they med it to the town. There's not many people about and most of the shops are closed. The buildings are very pretty and many have paintings decorating them. They walk over the bridge by the Museum, the river is a really strange colour, almost white. There's a few cafés open so they stop for a German beer, well you know them, before heading for the bus station for a free bus ride to the lake.Read more

    And relax……….

    Started the day with a bbq’d bacon buttie and then some housekeeping on Leo! Tried to get some washing done but it was ‘app’ based and would have been €20 for a one off €4 wash so we decided to leave it for now!!
    Beautiful campsite, well kept with big pitches and all facilities.
    Bike ride early afternoon before a thunder storm hit with unbelievable rain, soon dried up though and back to glorious sunshine 🌞

    Today was a bit like a s*** day of golf. 17 holes of I’ll never play again and on the 18th you get a par. Well today was like that. DO NOT wing it on a German holiday long weekend . Another 7 hours on the road and giving up all hope of getting somewhere to stay we end up on on a cracking site west of Salzburg. 7 days on the road and no ice. In desperation went to ask my German neighbours as I was desperate, and they obliged. Pray to The Lord 🙏 But There’s a bit to do to convince me Germany is the place to be.     There was so much to see and photograph, including Anna (Anke’s daughter), who had to endure a second day of hearing us speak English. It was particularly difficult for her, as she is just learning English at school, and our accents, combined with speaking too fast, made it difficult for her. We involved her in the conversation by asking her to teach us the German word for things, e.g. we now know a lake is ‘see’,a mountain is ‘berg’, a child is ‘kinder’, a tree is ‘baum’, the sun is ‘sonne’ and the stars are ‘sterne’.

    A Big Day Out in Bavaria

    Today we had a slightly later start to the day. We have been very fortunate with the weather in Munich, and today is no exception - blue skies and sunshine with temperatures in the mid 20’s.

    Our first destination was Tegernsee, a picturesque Bavarian town situated on lake Tegernsee, about 55 kilometres from Munich. Again, as it was a sunny day, everyone was heading either to the mountains to hike or the lake to relax (eat and drink beer) or sail. The Germans love to hike through the mountains. On the trip south we passed numerous small villages, such as Waakirchen and Gmund to name a few. We also encountered a lot of traffic on the autobahn, and so the speed was restricted to between 80 and 120kms, which the Germans do not like. Yesterday, at times my cousin was driving at speeds of 140 to 160kms per hour and, even then, other cars were flying past us - they must have been going at least 200kms per hour! Way too fast for my liking.

    Tegernsee is situated on a lake, and so we went for a bit of a walk along the shoreline, where we encountered people sun baking, swimming in the chilly lake and fishing, and even saw people having scuba diving lessons. We then wandered around some of the streets, to check out the architectural styles of the housing.

    On our return to the lake, we went past the local brewery, church and many restaurants. We stopped at Alta, a lovely restaurant on the lake, to have a typical Bavarian lunch of bread with a range of spreads (like dips). We had tuna, artichokes and sun dried tomatoes, chicken and curry, smoked salmon and dill, mustard and honey, apricot and rosemary and a local cheese which are all mashed up with cream cheese - very nice.

    After lunch we drove around the lake, and then headed back to Munich. I am glad we got to Tegernsee early, as the traffic heading towards the area as we were leaving was overwhelming, with traffic jams that went for over a kilometre.
