    Stürtzelberg - Ostroy

    May 14, 2024 in Germany ⋅ ☀️ 26 °C

    Zoo Duisburg

    October 19, 2024 in Germany ⋅ ☁️ 17 °C

  • Day 2–4

    Turbinen Halle

    March 19 in Germany ⋅ ☀️ 9 °C

I was having a tour withdrawal and asked Bella if I could join their tour for one show in Oberhausen as that is very close to my home, and that was possible. 🤍

I arrived in my hotel room on the 18th. I booked a 4-star hotel, but there wasn't even a water boiler in my room to make myself a cup of tea. I had to go to the lobby to do that. That is not up to standard for a jetsetter 😅🤣.

I had a lovely lunch at the Tropical Café and just strolled through Oberhausen a bit. I couldn't really find the city centre and was quite disappointed by the city itself. I guess I didn't find the good spots this time.. I had a nice hot shower in the evening and went to bed quite early as I felt really tired.

I got picked up by Kati at 10 am the next morning, and with a car filled with branches, we drove to the venue. I thought I had been there before, but it turned out o be a different venue after all.

I got to say hi to a few people and started with prepping gollum juice straight away. I noticed I had to get comfortable at first a bit as this wasn't the tour I was on the whole time, so I felt a little out of place, but that disappeared faster than it came.

I helped Nina set up the merch a bit and then had a quick lunch and went to warrior training somewhere in a park as it was very sunny. 🌞 We had a quick walk through to see where Kati and I could join and then had a talk in the park.

When we walked back to the venue, I fell on the curb, and cut my pants, and I was very embarrassed 😬😬

I didn't really know what I wanted to do with my hair, so I kept it quite basic. We went for mindcheck and dinner and then had some nice chats in the backstage whilst getting ready. In the meantime, we had a quick call with Bella as she was very missed. We were already done by 20.40, including runes, so that was nice!

I was extra nervous to join because I didn't want to make any mistakes, and I couldn't get the setlist in my system as it was completely different than the one from Australia/NZ. Nina, myself, and Kati were on the blot riser during Seidh, and that felt really powerful. I had to position Kai's micstand differently during Tenet and got a complete blackout when I got off stage, not knowing if I did it correctly, but I didnt get any complaints so I guess I did. 😅

After the show, I helped Nina with the merch again, as it was a 01:00 curvew, and there were a lot of things to (re)pack for their next show in Zurich.

We had cold soggy chicken nuggets by the buses, and Michael drove me back to my hotel, which was very sweet.

The next day I was very very sore and even had to buy slippers as I couldn't walk anymore because of blisters. I had another great lunch at Tropical café and I saw that there was a shopping mall close to the venue, so I decided to rent a scooter and drive up there. It was a very luxurious mall, but I was too tired to shop so I just strolled a bit, found a toilet and grabbed an iced chai latte and a sandwich and waited in the Sun untill I had to get back to the HBF to catch my train back home, where I am actually typing this out now.

Long story, but there was a lot to tell for a 3 day trip in one post. 🤍🤍
Very grateful again to have had the chance to do a quick warrior visit, and let's see when the next will be. ✨️

    Duisburg Ruhrorter Hafen

    June 14, 2024 in Germany ⋅ ⛅ 20 °C

Unser "Floh" steht startbereit an Land.

    Long weekend in Köln

    May 3, 2024 in Germany ⋅ ☁️ 11 °C

On Thursday morning we set off on our journey to Cologne! It was a super warm day, about 25 degrees when we arrived in the city centre. We enjoyed an early dinner with Oma Astrid and spent some time catching up and enjoying seeing each other (the last time we visited was August last year) Josh and I then took a long walk along the Rhine and witnessed the sky lighting up with lightening and thunder, dark clouds were looming ahead and we ended up getting caught in the rain but we had our jackets of course 😁😁

On Friday we spent time with Richard and Elke, some of Oma Astrid’s good friends. We really enjoyed seeing the exhibition space at the Gasometer. In the evening we had dinner and played a semi-competitive round of Phase 10 (which I lost) 🥲

During the weekend, we spent time exploring the city, visiting the Ludwig museum (which has a very impressive Picasso collection, among other great artists) and eating delicious food 🤩

Our time in Germany was short but we really enjoyed being with Oma Astrid and having a nice break away from our busy Amsterdam lives. We will be back very soon 🧡
