This was painted by a female prisoner, Grace Plunkett nee Gifford, who was married to Joseph Plunkett who was a signatory to the Declaration of Independence. They got married in the prison chapel where he was executed 7hrs later by firing squad. She ended up inprisoned for continuing his work.

Remains of the Powder tower.... They blew up the surrounding building when a fire started in the castle, to make a 'fire break' so the gun powder stored in the tower wouldn't explode.
