    Dublin Castle

    April 27 in Ireland ⋅ ☁️ 17 °C

2 years ago when we were here the line was too long so we didnt go in. I'm glad we did this time.
    Guided tour again was great.

Medievil ruins underground, remains of the moat and now underground river systems, a beautiful chapel that looks like stone but is actually made of oak (because stone would have been too heavy and would sink into the old moat) and then a beautiful castle!.
It is Ireland's version of Buckingham Palace. Beautiful!!!
Still used to house international leaders and other important people... Queen Victoria and Prince Albert, Nelson Mandela, Queen Elizabeth II, Pope Francis, and most recently (2 years ago) President Joe Biden.
    Lovely portraits and room decors.
A real life 'Bridgerton' ballroom too.
Currently has a display of the clothing for the Order of St. Patrick... sky blue and gold, not green

    Kilmainham Gaol

    April 27 in Ireland ⋅ ☁️ 16 °C

Amazing gaol tour. The guide was brilliant and a direct decendant of a prisoner from Irish Civil War.
Amazingly the youngest prisoner ever kept there was given a 14 day sentence for begging on the streets, with no family members with him, he was only 3 years old!!!
The gaol has been used for many films including The Italian Job, Michael Collins and was the inspiration for the jail in Paddington.

    Day 4

    April 26 in Ireland ⋅ ☀️ 17 °C

Today we took a bus trip around the city of Dublin. After Kim and I walked around Dublin to seethe sites on our own and to grab a bite to eat and get some exercise. Day started a bit cloudy but cleared up making for a spectacular day. Highlight was seeing the buskers on Grafton Street. Especially fortunate to see Allie Sherlock, one of my favorite buskers I follow on social media. Here are some pics in no particular order.Read more

    Showday Dublin 3Arena

    April 17 in Ireland ⋅ ☁️ 13 °C

We started around 9 with the merch team and kicked off the day with a classic English breakfast.

It was a pretty chill merchandise day for us. The merch had been shipped in from France, already pre-sorted and counted, so all we had to do was locate everything and make sure the local crew was set and ready to go.

That left me with a bit of extra time, so I started doing hair earlier than usual and got to really enjoy the catering—honestly, the best one we’ve had on the tour so far.

During warrior training, we focused on Tenet. I got a bit grumpy—probably hormonal. We learned a new prayer for the goddess, and the amulet chose me to embody her on stage tonight. It felt fitting, since my period is about to start—there’s probably no stronger symbol of femininity than that.

I started collecting greens for the crown and began working on it, only to realize (a little too late) that it was crawling with bugs. I’d already had it in my hands, and soon the dressing room was full of them.

I ran out to search for new greens, which turned out to be surprisingly difficult in Dublin—it’s not the greenest city, apparently, and I assume every leaf is already claimed by a bug. Still, I managed to find some wild bits and put together a crown for tonight.

Dinner catering was incredible again, and the ritual felt especially strong. Since I was up on the riser for two songs, my feet didn’t hurt as much either.

And then, right during the show, the moment I had the goddess amulet on, I started getting cramps and actually began bleeding. The effect was immediate and powerful. It's wild how real this ritual energy gets—like the body just knows.

We wrapped the night with an easy merch load-out and a drink on the bus.

    Kosmata limona

    January 29 in Ireland ⋅ ☁️ 7 °C

    January 13 in Ireland ⋅ ☁️ 12 °C

    London Week #4 Pt. 2

    October 25, 2024 in Ireland ⋅ ☁️ 14 °C

Had to do a whole post for the Dublin, Ireland weekend trip because we did so much!! I put captions on a lot of them to explain specifics but overall, the other Cal Lu students and I who went really enjoyed it! We spent Friday exploring the cobblestone streets and went to some local spots. The second day we went on an incredible tour through parts of Ireland outside of Dublin and had an amazing tour guide who played music, made jokes, told us about Irish culture, and gave us free candy for the 13hr day. The last day we did another tour through the Guinness Storehouse which was a great way to end our weekend.Read more

    Dublin

    October 11, 2024 in Ireland ⋅ ⛅ 12 °C

Leaving on 15th so great to have a catch up with my girlfriend and her husband whom I’ve not seen for 28 years but kept in touch. To meet 2/3 of their gorgeous boys is great too. The night I arrived we went out for dinner along with others of the extended family to Hartleys - a very nice restaurant down by the yacht clubs.
Next morning we took the dart (coast train) in to town, had a look about and did the hop on hop off bus and saw the sights of Dublin.
Coming back we got off early and walked around Dalkey (so cute) - Helen insisted I must have my first Guinness which I admit surprised me for the better. Apparently Finnegan’s is a very good one (Bono’s local and others of that set).
Looking out to and seeing along the coast where these nutters swim all year round was lovely and the absolutely gorgeous big homes looking out to it all.
Next day to Pariscourt - incredible gardens and beautiful shops and outstanding lunch!
Then to Wicklow - a great walk around the coast and through farmland. Afternoon tea with D and Neal and popped in to Moira’s. A good day of more very fresh air! (Freezing) but beautiful.
Next day I hopped on the Luas (tram) and looked around Dundrum and met Helen. Just milling about. And next morning - head home!
