Bitte Crystal… Bitte schreib wieder das Reisetagebuch! Du machst das so toll! Lust hab ich keine, aber Vorbereitung ist alles!
Ich habe Wörterbücher studiert, damit hier nicht nur Wuff steht. Habe Pfotenyoga gemacht, damit ich schneller tippen kann. Bin zum Friseur gegangen, damit ich hübsch bin und die andere Brigade? Vergisst mich einfach in Deutschland.

Bis die beiden Nichtskönner mich abholen, lad ich hier nur Bilder hoch. Mach ja nicht die ganze Arbeit für die 🥲

Dag 5 Bekaavallei

Vandaag een druk dagje, om 8:30 vertrekken we naar de Bekaavallei. Het wordt, volgens Rami, een dag vol verrassingen.
Voordat we in de Bekaavallei komen rijden we langs "The Hope for Peace" monument, een indrukwekkend moment, bestaande uit op elkaar gestapelde oorlogsvoertuigen
Het kost wat moeite om binnen te komen, maar uiteindelijk mogen we binnen het hek komen kijken maar het monument. Vergezeld door 3 militairen die opletten dat we op afstand blijven blijkt er ook nog een, niet interessant, wapenmuseum te zijn.
We gaan verder over de berg naar de citadel va, een oude opgraving.dichtbij de grens met Syrië. De opgraving is niet groot, maar gezien het feit dat Rami geschiedkundige is van beroep, maakt de plaats inzichtelijk.
Hierna gaan we verder naar de volgende "verrassing": op een plek waar tot 1975 een treinstation was, staat een oude, roestige trein.
Dan komen we als "verrassing" ook nog langs "de zwaarste steen" ter wereld, het is een rechthoekig blok, uitgehakt in de grond. Ik vind het een gemaakte "attractie "...
Hierna bereiken we Baalbek, waar zich een grote ruine bevindt. Mooie tempels geweid aan Jupiter, Bachus en en Venus.
Vanwege alle inspanning is het tijd voor een meer dan overvloedig lunch. Met hierbij 2 v"errassingen": een ingepakte salade, en rijst met kip onder een dakje van brood.
Daarna hebben we ook nog een wijnproeverij in Chateau Xzara waar we , na een rondleiding door de koele grotten waar de wijn ligt te rijpen, 4 prima wijnen te proeven krijgen.
Dan is het tijd om naar het hotel te gaan, lekker douchen en nog een paar stukjes tapas eten in het restaurant waar we dinsdag ook waren.Lue lisää

On commence à prendre l'habitude de s'enfiler des gros sandwichs aux falafels au petit dej ! Tellement bon🤣 Passage au saraf, salutations au Dr Habib et c'est parti pour Anjar, un village tout paumé. Les vestiges d'une cité omeyyade s'y nichent au milieu des sapins et des vignes. L'endroit est désert et silencieux.

Ensuite on tente de grimper en haut d'une colline pour voir un mini temple et profiter de la vue, mais on tombe sur une caserne militaire alors on lâche l'affaire.

Un petit mot sur la conduite libanaise, "mélange de créativité et d'égoïsme extrêmes" : si tu penses que doubler à gauche manque de piment, qu'utiliser les feux de croisement c'est surfait, que griller les feux c'est rigolo ou encore qu'une marche arrière sur une voie d'insertion sur l'autoroute est dans tes cordes, les routes libanaises sont faites pour toi 😵Lue lisää

On day 5, I had finished all my family visits and we could finally get back to what we enjoy. Visiting museums, getting to know the city and its people, in short, the historical and cultural.

The first museum we went to was the National Museum in Beirut, which surprisingly impressed us a lot. It is very beautiful and contains many well-preserved exhibits.Lue lisää

4. Day Beirut

On the 4th day in Beirut, we went for sandwiches in the morning, which were very tasty. Watch out, the second picture is with lamb brain. Sounds bad, but tastes very good especially with garlic sauce. :)

Afterwards we went to a big mall because Theresa wanted to buy some clothes. The mall is now quite empty, although it gets fuller during the afternoon, but the mostly Lebanese can no longer afford the things there.

Afterwards, we had the idea to go to Jounieh in northern Lebanon and visit Harisa. It is the landmark of Lebanon, but on Monday all tourist attractions are closed. Good to know!

In the evening we drove to Shuwaifet in the mountains of Lebanon, where the Druse area of Lebanon is. My aunt and cousins live there. We had a delicious dinner and laughed and talked a lot.Lue lisää

After we arrived in Beirut, we were picked up by my cousin Ali Jawad, whom you will see or read more often in the near future.

He drove us to the flat and we were all very pleasantly surprised by the accommodation. 3 bedrooms, 2 living rooms, 3 balconies, big kitchen, 2.5 bathrooms and everything you need for a long stay.

In the evening we went to Zaituna Bay, which is the marina of Beirut, had dinner and talked.

In the evening, I went to Jbeil (German: Byblos) with Ali Jawad and another family friend and had drinks and typical Lebanese food.Lue lisää

Nous quittons Saida après avoir jeté un coup d'oeil aux ruines du temple d'Echmoun. Il ne reste pas grand-chose, sans doute faut il avoir pas mal d'imagination ou d'érudition pour apprécier le site. Pas de gardien, quelques personnes travaillent sur une mosaïque dans un coin.
Avant de rentrer à Beyrouth nous visitons le palais de Beiteddine, si joli et cosy qu'on se poserait bien dans le canap' du salon. Super vue sur les collines environnantes.Lue lisää

Beyrouth

Arrivée à Beyrouth en mode Space Mountain sous des trombes d'eau, après une heure de tourbillons dans les trous d'air. Le premier jour est dédié à ne rien faire, il pleut trop et on en profite pour organiser nos 15 derniers jours de voyage. Le lendemain c'est promenade sur la Corniche et café au soleil. Les étudiants de l'AUB ont l'air si jeunes, on n'est vraiment plus crédibles sur un campus. D'ailleurs on a des activités de petits vieux, la preuve : on va au Musée National admirer les bijoux, mosaïques, statues et autres artefacts cochons retrouvés sur les sites archéologiques du pays. Et puis on va boire des verres à Mar Mikhail sapés comme des randonneurs Quechua !Lue lisää
