We spent the weekend at Marco's sister, who is doing an internship and is living with other interns from Germany.
We went to "The Square", at the center of Gainesville, with some pubs and clubs around the main square. The whole place looked like the main square in Gilmore Girls, Halloween decoration everywhere, lights on the trees. People were driving around the square with tuned cars and motorbikes, people wearing crazy helmets and leather jackets.Read more

Alabama

Dennis and I have been in Alabama for a few days now. The roads roll along with beautiful bright green tall forest either side. Maple , oak, pine, and a whole lot I don't know. No big hills
Lots of weeks towns and houses along the way. Houses with prchrs out the front facing the road . Lots have rocking chairs on the porches. I kid you not!! I expect there's a shot gun behind the fro t door as well.
More churches than coffee shops. Also no joke, especially when I'm looking for coffee around 10:30.
Apparently we are inthe Bible belt here and it's very obvious.
We are off to Telladega today to start our Nascar experience.Read more

Getting ready for Telladega

Nothing too exciting here the last couple of days. We drove to Telladega on around Monday to get sorted for the big Nascar race there, this weekend coming. Justcas well because it turned out I had purchased 2 RV camping sites and no stand tickets to watch the race. We managed to sort all that out and met some lovely people who helped.
It's an incredible event. 2700 RV camping sites. 3000 acres. 170,000 spectators. All sorts of organization to manage it all. Noone seems too concerned about the carbon footprint! Ha.
We have spent the last 2 nights at a gorgeous lake just outside of Atlanta, Georgia. Today we loaded up with, food, wine, beer, propane, and tomorrow we head back to Telladega to petrol head heaven.Read more

We had a wonderful visit with Joanne and Oliver Sale today. Joanne has been a Marr/Stewart family friend for 45 years. We got caught up on each family. She served a delicious dinner and we talked and talked and talked. Glenn and Oliver watched episode 1 of The listening Road” docuseries. Lovely home.

We had breakfast with Richard and Carole Lynne.They served in Colombia and Ecuador for many years. He was held captive by the guerillas for 66 days. That’s a story. God’s faithfulness.Read more

We made it to the delivery place! They say it is going to take them a while to get to us, so I'll tell you about pink beast. We were in the right lane. I was asleep on the big bed with my favorite! A little red beast hit pink beast on the right! Pink beast WON! Everyone was so excited after we pulled over. I went outside to sniff. Then I had to stay on the bed while strange man came.
