      Endlich Tobago Cays

      15 gennaio, Saint Vincent e Grenadine ⋅ 🌬 28 °C

      Die Nacht war der Knaller. Wir haben bis 2:30am gefeiert und an Bord getanzt 💃 . Sogar der verletzte Captain 🧑‍✈️. Super lustig.

      Dafür waren natürlich alle erst spät wach und bisserl verkatert 😵 und müde. Mustique hat sich vom seiner besten Seite gezeigt. Herrlichster Sonnenschein und türkises Wasser mit schwimmenden 🐢 Schildkröten 🤩.

      Um 11:30 abgelegt zur Fahrt in die Tobago Cays 🏝️Der Traum in Türkis. 5St. heftigster Wind und Wellen 🌊 haben uns begleitet bis wir zu Einfahrt ins 🪸 🐠 Korallenriff von den Cays kamen. Wassertiefe zwischen 1 & 4 Metern. Brisant, doch gut sind wir in das Glück gefahren und haben gemoored.

      Cocolishious 😂, ein Einheimischer, half uns beim Anlegen und überredete (🤣) uns zum 🦞 Lobsterdinner am Strand. Gebongt. Mit Dingi um 18h übergesetzt und in solch süsser Location gelandet. Gleich hab ich einen Rochen gesichtet. Toll.

      An langen bunten Tischen sassen schon einige Segler und dinierten. Wir hatten unseren eigenen mit bunt geblümter Plastiktischdecke 🤓. Es war fantastisch. Wir bekamen leckersten Gemüsereis, Schmorgemüse, überbackene Kartoffeln, frittierte Bananen und 8 🦞 Hälften. Wir waren alle im Himmel. 🤩. Es war 😋 köstlich in dieser grandiosem Atmosphäre.

      Um 21h mit Dingi an Bord. Weil ein Teil der Crew müde waren, blieben nur Yvonne, Verena und ich noch auf und schnackten. Dann kam ein Dingi vom Nachbarboot an Bord: Circo & Frank, ganz süss sagten sie „wir sind eine Männertruppe an Bord und wir wollten ein bisschen Nachbarschaftspflege betreiben … und wir haben uns gelangweilt“ 😂. Sie kamen mit einer Flasche Wein. Wir haben uns herzig unterhalten. Der Wein war natürlich schnellstens weg 🤪 (wir hatten nichts mehr) und sie wollten Rum und Cola von ihrem Boot holen.
      Nach 15 Minuten waren dann nicht nur die Drinks da, sondern 5 Männer 😝.

      Es war ein super lustiger Abend und wir waren für den nächsten Tag zum Dinner eingeladen, was wir erst einmal nicht annahmen, weil wir schon am Strand fürs Abendessen zugesagt hatten. Absprache folgt natürlich mit allen am nächsten Tag mit allen. Herrlicher Abschluss des Abends war das ☺️      Leggi altro

      Lobster & Butterfish

      7 marzo, Saint Vincent e Grenadine ⋅ 🌬 28 °C

      Laundry was top of the list this morning so, we brought a large bag over to Daffodils. From there we walked up a steep hill and up to a fort/ perch that we could see from the boat, we headed down the path on the side of the hill and it lead back to laundry place. They were building a new dinghy dock and one of the workers said that he had fish and would come to the boat later.
      We took the dinghy into town and stocked up on groceries a two stores and the fruit market. On our way from Doris back to the other store a guy stopped us in the street and wanted to know if we wanted chicken. When we said I don’t eat it, he said he had pork and beef. Brian bought both from him. Then back at the dinghy dock we met Flex who sells lobsters (and was recommended by another Dawg - Kathy). We bought one for $85EC, and brought it back to the boat. We put him in a bucket and then in a mesh bag attached to the painter of the dinghy.
      Brian was going to prime the top rub rail and I chatted with Ashlynn, who was on the ferry to Victoria BC. I was boiling eggs and then made quinoa and emptied out and cleaned the cupboards while talking to her. We had a great chat! The laundry arrived back to the boat, by boat and I paid 80ec…. Not bad for wash, dry and folded clothes.
      We we were told to cut the lobster in two and grill it…. This took a lot of time and effort, but we finally did it. Then Hayden came by in his SUP with Butterfish, as he said he would. Brian agreed to buy them all, and Hayden showed me how to descale and clean the fish. We put them away for tomorrow and enjoyed a beautiful lobster dinner!      Leggi altro

      Caught a Fish!

      9 marzo, Saint Vincent e Grenadine ⋅ ⛅ 28 °C

      Woke up and decided early that Brian would do a pastel. We lowered the dinghy from the davit, put the engine on, and then I attempted to start it. There was a kerfuffle as I had a learning style different then Brian’s teaching. But we worked it out quickly and he allowed me to start and drive the dinghy. I could have stayed in the boat and worked but decided to go with him and read. It is his first art attempt in awhile as he wasn’t inspired by anything he saw in Bequia.
      When we returned to Lorena, we decided to apply the stripper to the rub rail followed by lots of sanding. Finally we gave up after we bought another lobster from a local fisherman who stopped by the boat - they also gave us two conch. Brian decided to make some water (run the generator and put up with load noise), and I tenderized the conch and figured out how to cook it gluten free style. We cooked the lobster immediately as it was fatigued. I read that the conch parts are good bait for fishing, so I took a rod and tried to figure out how to us it. I started on the transom and worked my way to the bow, where I caught a Jack Fish. We could have kept and ate it, but since we already had a feast waiting, we released it.
      The water maker was giving pressure problems, so Brian was nervous, but when it finished we decided to go snorkelling. The water was clear and beautiful along the point and we saw lots of coral, lion fish, Chinese trumpet fish and more. Back on the boat we cleaned us at the stern shower and lounged (and took a spin around the Bay on the dinghy). We came back to Lorena and grabbed some attire before leaving again to check out the shore. We went for a long walk on the beach (and I climbed the bolder, that reminded me of the Rocks in NB). We stopped at Sunet Cove and had a virgin Pina Colada and watched the sun decent before heading back to the boat to feast on lobster, quinoa salad and conch. I decided to fry the conch in oil, with chickpea flour, egg wash and crushed gf crackers. It was very good! We usually listen to music during meal prep and eating…. And sometimes there is dancing involved afterwards 😆.      Leggi altro

      Kingstown/St. Vincent

      Heute sind wir eine karibische Insel weiter gehopst und kommen kurz nach Sonnenaufgang an. Wir werden heute mit einem Boot zum Schnorcheln zu der abgeschiedenen Bucht Petit Bayahauo fahren, dann weiter entlang der Küste und einem kleinen Dorf, welches als Filmkulisse bei "Fluch der Karibik" gedient hat, in eine andere Bucht. Super Wasser, toller Ausflug, lecker Rumpunsch. Zurück am Schiff, läuft uns Florian, der Traumschiff Kapitän in die Arme, also der Tag ist perfektLeggi altro

      Erste Nacht auf unserem Katamaran

      Gestern Abend lernten wir unsere Crew (Skipper und Steward) und die anderen Mitreisenden kennen. Unsere Gruppe besteht aus 6 Franzosen, 2 Tschechen und 4 Deutschen. Nach einem kurzen Kennenlernen aßen wir eine Kleinigkeit und tranken Tequila und Rum. Leider hatte es den ganzen Tag über immer wieder stark geregnet, so dass die Sitzflächen auf dem Deck alle nass waren. So zogen sich alle schnell nach dem Auslaufen in ihre Kabinen zurück.Leggi altro

      In Bequia wird gewaschen und eingekauft

      Wir fahren mit unserem Beiboot an Land, um unseren Müll zu entsorgen und einige Lebensmittel einzukaufen. Dabei begrenzen wir uns auf das Wesentlichste, denn Lebensmittel sind hier sehr teuer. Am Boot zurück, packen wir unsere Wäsche zusammen, denn die muss gewaschen werden. Von einem schweizer Segler bekamen wir den Tip, dass man hier gut seine Wäsche waschen lassen kann. Das wollen wir ausprobieren. Wir tuckern mit unseren Beiboot und dem großen Wäschehaufen zur Wäscherei. Dort stellen wir mit erschrecken fest, dass 5 kg Wäsche umgerechnet 12 € kosten soll, und das ohne trocknen! Wir haben 20 kg Wäsche. Das wird uns dann doch etwas zu teuer und wir disponieren um. Wir lassen die nötigsten 5 kg waschen und waschen den Rest auf unserem boot selbst. Wir spannen Leinen zum trocknen über das Boot.
      Die 5 kg werden von einem Wäschereiboot gebracht. Die beliefern uns auch mit Trinkwasser. Deren Geschäftsmodell gefällt uns. Sie liefern Wäsche, Wasser und Diesel direkt ans Boot.      Leggi altro

      Kurzer Zwischenstopp bei St. Vincent

      20 dicembre 2019, Saint Vincent e Grenadine ⋅ ⛅ 29 °C

      Heute segeln wir nach St. Vincent in eine ruhige Bucht. Hier ist das Ankern nicht so einfach, da einige Felsen im Wasser liegen und das Ufer steil ist. Beim ersten Versuch hält der Anker. Regina schnorchelt lieber noch mal, um sich den Anker anzuschauen. Der Anker liegt leider nur auf einem Felsbrocken die Ankerkette hat sich um einen kleineren Stein gewickelt und nur darum war die Ankerkette straff. Regina sucht im Wasser nach einem geeigneten Ankergrund. Sie findet ein sandiges Plätzchen. Hier hält der Anker zum Glück! Im Laufe des Nachmittags kommen einige Jungs auf alten Surfbrettern vorbei gepaddelt und fragen nach etwas Geld oder etwas zu essen. Neben uns haben sich noch ein paar andere Boote gesellt, die hier ebenfalls die Nacht verbringen. Am nächsten Morgen geht es früh los, um nach Saint Lucia zu segeln. Das wird ein langer Tag, denn die Überfahrt dauert ca. 9 Stunden.Leggi altro

      Ankret op vest for Mayreau.

      Vejret et halvdårligt og alle er under dæk. På vej her til fangede Mario en kæmpe whau whau, som han nu har parteret og er nu i fryseren. Efter vi ankrede op købte Massimo fire hummere, som han nu er ved at koge i kabyssen.

      Wir testen den Gennacker

      17 marzo 2020, Saint Vincent e Grenadine ⋅ ⛅ 27 °C

      Wir segeln von Palm Island nach Petit San Vincent und machen auf dem Weg dorthin einen Schnorchelstop am Riff mit einer kleinen Sandinsel. Vor der Luxusressort-Insel Petit San Vincent ankern wir in türkisem Wasser. Regina entdeckt vom Boot aus große Adlerrochen Rochen und wir schauen den majestätischen Meeresbewohnern unter Wasser zu.

      Am Nachmittag segeln wir weiter nach Carriacou. Der Wind weht seitlich von hinten, so dass wir endlich einmal unseren Gennacker ausprobieren können. Als wir eine Halse fahren, reißt das Segel oben vom Mast ab, und fällt ins Wasser. Es ist aber zum Glück kein Schaden entstanden. Am Segeltop ist ein Metallring zerbrochen, den Jens aber noch während des Törns ersetzt.

      Als wir in Hillsborough auf Carriacou ankommen, setzten Maria und Peter mit dem Beiboot über, um den Ort etwas zu erkunden. Als es schon dunkel ist machen wir uns etwas Sorgen, denn die beiden sind noch nicht zurück. Etwas später kommen die beiden plitschnass mit dem Beiboot zurückgepaddelt. Der Einstieg am Strand hat sie vor Herausforderungen gestellt. Ein netter Einheimischer half ihnen schließlich. Doch auf dem Rückweg streikt der Motor und so paddeln beide zurück zum Boot. Der Benzinschlauch vom Tank war ab.      Leggi altro

      Energia nuova, memoria da vecchi

      Ieri vi avevo parlato dell'energia della giovinezza conferita dai bozzoli di Cocoon. Quello che il regista ha sottaciuto è che i bozzoli, se portano grande vigoria fisica ed allegria ballerina, vi lasciano con la memoria di sempre. Stamani credevamo di essere a Saint George' s, a Grenada. Ci siamo bardati, pronti per una nuova escursione. Armati di biglietti siamo andati al teatro, punto di ritrovo. Stranamente non c'era nessuno, tutto chiuso. Stranamente mica tanto. Evidentemente gli altri passeggeri hanno neuroni più agili e sapevano che eravamo a Kingstown, Grenadine. Con le pive nel sacco siamo scesi a fare due passi nel paese. Posto non eccezionale, in realtà. Eppure, a giudicare dalla foto fatta dal bagno della nave era proprio un bel vedere.Leggi altro
