Today we got up at the Hilton Hotel in Birmingham airport and crossed over the bridge to the terminal. After dropping our bags we went up to the departures lounge and grabbed a coffee and some food. After getting on the plane we took off from Birmingham off on holiday!Read more

We landed in Fiumicino airport and got a drink. After finding our way to the coach we got a lift into town and grabbed some lunch at a coffee shop. After grabbing lunch, we walked around Rome and finally arrived at our apartment.Read more

CEPOD Suitcase Surgery

We arrived at the apartment and checked in. After unpacking we relaxed for a bit and and I tried to get my suitcase open. Unfortunately the lock wasn’t opening with the password and after trying for 2 hours it wouldn’t open. We went down the road to a hardware store and the shopkeeper cut the zipper so I could get all my stuff out. After finally getting in and unpacking, we got ready and went out for dinner!Read more

After getting ready for dinner we went out down the road and saw the colosseum. After the lovely views we walked down the road and got something to eat at Vaccinari’s. After a delicious dinner we went and grabbed some Ice cream and headed back to the house for an early nights sleep!Read more

Saint Clement

Today we got up after a lie in and went to Panella for some lunch. After a quick snack we walked down towards the forum. Along the way we went into Saint Clement basilica. After exploring the basilica we walked down to the Colosseum. We walked past and saw all the beautiful parts of the forum and around the backstreets nearby. After exploring we walked down the road and grabbed a drink.Read more

Capitoline Hill

After a quick spritz we walked up around past the basilica of Maxentius down away from the colosseum. After walking down looking at all the statues I went up to the Capitoline Hill. I looked around the plaza and then went down the stairs to other side and walked back past the fountain of Tyrrhenian. After exploring, we walked back around past the statues of Caesar back to get ready for dinner!Read more

After getting back we got changed and went out for dinner to a restaurant called Non c'è trippa pe' Gatti. We had some lovely dinner and then we explored the backstreets on the way back home.

Today we got up and went out to grab some water. After walking and grabbing some fruit we walked over through the streets and grabbed some pizza. After enjoying the food we walked over to explore the markets at Campo de’ Fiori and had a coffee at a show with lots of vintage technology.Read more

Tiber E Trastevere

After a coffee break we walked past a nice park and crossed the Tiber river into Trastevere. We walked over to the Piazza di Santa Maria and enjoyed some ice cream. After relaxing in the shade we walked along the river and then crossed back over the river via the Piazza di S. Bartolomeo All'Isola. After crossing back we walked to Piazza Benedetto

Piazza Navona e Sant'Ignazio of Loyola

After our break in the park we walked down the road posts the Pantheon to the Piazza Navona. We walked around the Piazza and saw all the beautiful buildings. We then walked back home. Along the way we walked past the Sant'Ignazio of Loyola church. We went inside and saw all the beautiful paintings and sculptures. We then walked back home and got ready to go out for dinnerRead more

The Pantheon and The Twin Churches

Today we got up and got ready to go out. We walked over to the pantheon and marvelled at how beautiful it is. After going inside we got an audioguide telling us the history. After the guide finished we went outside and got some chicken salad calzone. After the calzone we walked to a cafe and got some Starbucks coffee. After we continued to walk aroudn the streets and then we arrived at the twin churches; Santa Maria dei Miracoli and Santa Maria di Montesanto.Read more

The Piazza and the Terrazza

After arriving at the twin churches we walked around the Piazza Del Popolo. After walking around the fountains we walked up to the Terrazza del Pincio and explored the views. There were some stunning views of the city and lots of nice shade! After walking around, we headed back down the stairs back to the Piazza and walked down Via Del Babuino looking in all the shops along the way.Read more

The Spanish Steps

After walking down Via Del Babuino we got to the Spanish steps. We popped into McDonalds for a quick drink and were shocked by how pretty it looked. After filling up and enjoying some new snacks, such as pistachio McFlurries and Parmesan we went to look at the steps and got some nice views over the city. After marveling at the scenery we walked back to the house past the Trevvy fountain and managed to get the chance to make some wishes. Finally, after a long walk we got back into the house and got changed ready for dinner.Read more

Smashing Supper

After getting ready for dinner we went down to grab some dinner. We walked back towards the Trevi Fountain and found a nice pizza restaurant. After we sat down and ordered one of the waitresses accidently dropped a bottle of water and it smashed by our feet. We were find and continued to enjoy a nice dinner. After we finished we walked back along past the Trevi Fountain and I got a carved coin. After a long walk we eventially got in and relaxed before going to bed.Read more

Today we got up and got the metro to the vatican city. After walking around the outside of the city we grabbed some lunch and walked into Saint Peter's Square. After getting some lovely photos we walked to grab a snack and popped into McDonalds to grab a drink. After a drink break we went back to the square and I got some Holy Water and a coin. After shopping we walked down the Via della Conciliazione and popped into a Museum.Read more

After walking up Via della Conciliazione we walked into the museum of Leonardo da Vinci. We were able to walk around the museum and marvel at all his inventions and paintings. After exploring the museum we started to head back home.Read more

On the walk back we passed Castel Sant'Angelo. We walked around the moat of the castle and admired how magnificent it was. After exploring around the castle we walked back home. On the way back we popped into the pharmacist to grab some toiletries and I popped into the bookshop to buy a book. After arriving back home we changed and got ready to go out to dinner.Read more

Vaccinari Pt2

After getting ready for dinner we popped out. After a long day of walking we popped to a restaurant nearby the house. We had dinner with two American's we met at the restaurant called Carol and Isabella. After a lovely meal and trying some new food, we parted ways and we went back home. After getting in, I popped out to get some water and then we went to sleep.Read more

Colossal Colosseum

Today we got up after having a lie in and grabbed some lunch. After eating some delicious pizza we walked over to the colosseum. After getting in we went through the security scanners and marvelled at how big it was. We went around the bottom layer then went up to the top layer to look at the artifacts. After going around the top layer we popped into the shop. Dad grabbed a statue of a gladiator and I got a Roman Coin. We then went downstairs and got to see the arena floor. After marvelling at the views we left the colusseum and crossed over to the forum.Read more

After exploring the colosseum we went through another set of security and went into the roman Forum. We walked up firstly to Domus Severiana and then we headed round to Museo Palatino and Domus Flavia. After heading past the house of Livia we continued around the forum.Read more

Fantastic Forum Pt2

After continuing around, we went past the Farnese Gardens Domus Tiberiana and then to the area overlooking the city of rome and the forums. We then went down the stair stairs and explored the house of vestals and the basilica Emilia. After walking around the grounds of the forum we then headed back home.Read more

Fiumicino Farewells

Today we got up early and packed our bags. After packing we said goodbye to the apartment and got on the train. When we had a quick change we stopped and grabbed some breakfast at Roma Termii station and then got on another train to the airport.
