  • Reisens start
    21. juli 2017
  • King's Cross, England

    22. juli 2017, England ⋅ 🌧 61 °F

Unfortunately we arrived at the station 3 hours early (giving ourselves some leeway in case of a delayed flight) so we enjoyed some lunch and checked out the Harry Potter store. I managed to also get some well deserved sleep too.Les mer

  • Edinburugh Waverly Station, Scotland

    22. juli 2017, Skottland ⋅ 🌧 55 °F

After a hearty 36 hour travel time we were finally in Scotland, it was as if all the fatigue and tired legs went away. Edinburgh was the highlight of my trip hands down.

  • Edinbrugh, Scotland

    23. juli 2017, Skottland ⋅ ☁️ 57 °F

After all the travel we really didn’t want to go to the hotel once our feet hit the streets of Edinburgh. It was quite an experience to see the city at night, fresh rain made lights reflect off every surface.Les mer

  • Edinburgh Day

    24. juli 2017, Skottland ⋅ ☀️ 63 °F

Our second day we chilled out and grabbed some breakfast, pastries and teas were our primary source of food. Cafe Nero became our go-to in both Edinburgh and London.

We walked down many of the cobblestone streets and even took a ride on the Ferris Wheel, the one ride I hate the mostLes mer

  • Edinburgh Castle, Scotland

    24. juli 2017, Skottland ⋅ ☀️ 68 °F

Approaching Edinburgh Castle you really start to realize your somewhere special. Our hotel was a 5 min. walk away and we passed the hill below often, it wasn’t until we purchased the admission tickets did we get a full grasp of the castle.

Inside there were multiple exhibits, museums and rooms all showing the history of the UK. The view of Edinburgh from this particular vantage point was picturesque.

  • Kilmahog, Scotland

    25. juli 2017, Skottland ⋅ ☁️ 57 °F

The next day we decided against keeping our rental car and instead took a tour bus up to the Highlands. Hands down the best last-minute decision of our UK trip. Experiencing Scotland via a 8hour ride and guide was exactly what we needed, stopping along the way for food, culture, and castles.Les mer

  • Loch Ness, Scotland

    25. juli 2017, Skottland ⋅ ☀️ 64 °F

After walking the grounds of the castle we jumped onto a ferry and rode up the Loch to jump back into the bus. Maybe it was just me but the water seemed almost black, cool and refreshing...

  • Edinburgh, Scotland

    26. juli 2017, Skottland ⋅ 🌧 55 °F

Our last day in Scotland, we took the time and visited the last few monuments and stores we hadn’t seen yet. Grabbing some smoothies at our sons (still) favorite, smoothie shop, all themed Scooby Doo.

  • British Museum, England

    28. juli 2017, England ⋅ ⛅ 63 °F

If you haven’t caught the trend we love Museums, and when your in London, it’s only customary to go to the the British Museum. This place was so big we ended up going back the next day, and still we weren’t able to see all that we wanted.Les mer

  • Big Ben, England

    29. juli 2017, England ⋅ ⛅ 66 °F

After the Museum we walked through Trafalgar Square and onto Big Ben. We viewed the London Eye from the bridge then checked out Westminster Abbey. Finishing with an iconic shot at the phone booth.

  • Hampton Court Palace, England

    30. juli 2017, England ⋅ ⛅ 64 °F

The next day we ventured away from London and took a ride out to Hampton Court Palace. The home of King Henry the VIII, the palace was amazing... murals, statues, rooms, and courtyards. But the biggest impact was the gardens, the flowers that bloom and the mazes of brush.Les mer

  • Bushy Park - London, England

    30. juli 2017, England ⋅ ⛅ 66 °F

As we were leaving the palace we came across two dozen deer roaming about the palace entrance. Obviously very used to humans we took our time and fed them leaves, perfect ending .

Our last official day in the UK, we headed from our hotel early and took a walk through the park. Reflecting on the past week that almost felt endless but so quick at the same time. To this day there hasn't been a place like the UK, we cant wait to go back.Les mer
