We originally planned to roll out because my mom didn't love the Fairbanks activities. Then, I looked at camping and interest sites between Fairbanks and Denali. Almost nothing. So, we are back to myもっと詳しく
Ice Art Park Overnight
This place is a drive-thru 'winter wonderland' sort of thing that is a campground in the summer. We are the only people here. There is a permanent RV labeled "Camp Host" that isn't being used.
#35 RA: Unofficial Alcan End
They put up a sign at a park because this is where the road system stops going north, and many think of it as the end of the trek north. So I took some pictures. lol

Polaris sculpture, historical plaques, and the northernmost railroad terminus that is defunct.

This Roadside attraction was 100% in honor of my hunters back in MO.
#32 RA: Touching the Pipe
The Alyeska Pipeline runs 800 miles from Prudhoe Bay to Valdez. It is sometimes above ground, sometimes below, and if you go to a point where it is transitioning, you can sometimes touch it.
#31 RA: North Pole
You know a town named North Pole is going to embrace that wholly. We stopped at Santa Land. Mom loved it. I won't lie... I love Christmas stuff, too. We left with a couple of wearables and anもっと詳しく
#30 RA: Alaska Pipeline
The pipeline is rarely taken over a large waterway anywhere that you can see it. So here are some pics of that.
#29 RA: The End - But Not Really
Mosquitos! I was warned. They are plentiful and huge and will wake you up at 4am when they get hungry. So, of course, I stopped to take pics of the metal sculptures celebrating? their existence.
Tok (Toke)
I've been saying Tok like tic-toc, but it's with a long O.
We left Chicken, swung through Tok where we did laundry, bought a rotisserie chicken, saw the sign pictured above, and washed the suburban

Chicken - Day 3
Finally, Chickenstock starts today! A whole host of bands, many from AK, are lined up.

Chicken, AK
We.Are.Here! We are, in fact, early. I wanted to make sure we got camping on the festival site and it's first come, first serve. So, we'll be cooling our heels today. I don't mind. I plan to walkもっと詳しく
#28 RA: Top of the World Highway
Do gorgeous views in every direction the entire way count as a roadside attraction? I dunno, but I've never been on a road that rides the ridges rather than chasing the water. We were at the tree lineもっと詳しく
#27 RA: Paddlewheel Graveyard
Apparently, when the road opened in 1952, the owners of the paddlewheels threw up their hands and beached their boats because they were suddenly useless. Here they lay to rot. The "bridge" on theもっと詳しく
Dawson City Ferry

Dawson City - Day 2

Dawson City

The Tintina Trench Rest Area Overnight
A rough driving day. Mud lanes off the road, about 100 km of washboard road surface or construction, with dips and potholes between. I just couldn't make it to Dawson City, so here we are.
#26 RA: Five Fingers Rapids
This navigational hazard on the Yukon created a problem for paddlewheel boats (as well as other boats), and they blasted the bottom of the river for about 25 years to make it deeper and wider. It isもっと詳しく
#25 RA: Loon Mosaic
