This place is a drive-thru 'winter wonderland' sort of thing that is a campground in the summer. We are the only people here. There is a permanent RV labeled "Camp Host" that isn't being used. It's Czytaj więcej

The Alyeska Pipeline runs 800 miles from Prudhoe Bay to Valdez. It is sometimes above ground, sometimes below, and if you go to a point where it is transitioning, you can sometimes touch it.

This was "the day"... the record setting peep drop. They drop a load of peeps from a helicopter each year. This year's is the largest ever - over 12,000 peeps!

Apparently, when the road opened in 1952, the owners of the paddlewheels threw up their hands and beached their boats because they were suddenly useless. Here they lay to rot. The "bridge" on the Czytaj więcej

The Tintina Trench Rest Area Overnight

A rough driving day. Mud lanes off the road, about 100 km of washboard road surface or construction, with dips and potholes between. I just couldn't make it to Dawson City, so here we are.

This navigational hazard on the Yukon created a problem for paddlewheel boats (as well as other boats), and they blasted the bottom of the river for about 25 years to make it deeper and wider. It is Czytaj więcej

Fox Lake Fire Rest Area Overnight
