Der große Fang / Le grand pecheur

    June 27, 2020 in France ⋅ ⛅ 15 °C

For our last day in Crozon we planned a lot. Enjoyed a crèpes at the marché, went shopping for souvenirs and sadly had our last surf session among with kite surfers :/
The last supper was served perfectly on our camping grill: Sea brasse, red snapper and creuvettes! Thumbs up to the Primus gas grill. As a famous poet once wrote: “Dekadenz ist da, um
    is zu leben.”
After the delicious meal it was showtime. For our last evening we went on a hunt for fish again at the harbour in Morgat.
Perfect conditions: Rising tide, sundown, almost no wind and little to no waves.
A red wine sharpened our senses-here we go. First throw first hit! Crazy stoked like kids we shouted towards our first (decent big) fish on the hook.
I was eager to put it off the hook. What do you think happened when you think about my glorious fishing skills?
Right- I got cold feeted shouted to Lisa to grab the bucket and hand me the knife and flutsch- the fish got off the hook and fell through a gap of rocks. Lisa got furious and went back to the car to get the speargun in order to grab the lost fish :/
Hunter mode went on throwin another hook into the water. Luck is with the dummies! Another one bit and I managed to grab it. Lisa arrived and was about to shout when I asked a local family in my best french: “Comment vouz fait le mort?”
A local dad grabbed the fish and killed it relentlessly. After that it was Lisas turn.
End of story, well you see it on the pics. Hell of a catch: 3 caught Makerels and 3 lost off the hook.
What a result for our last night. Shout out to the Breizh locals <3
PS: We both dreamed about fishing and my finger still smell like fish :)
