Saying goodbye leisurely as we managed to get our apartment until 2pm vs an 11am checkout which made the last day much more special. A lovely walk along the beach, swimming in the sea and finishing up the fridge... we had a really lovely last night at the Lobster Pot after the gang came back from an afternoon diving / so everyone a bit wiped and slept well last night.Read more

Dominik’s now scuba certified and oliver made the five of us dinner - two firsts today. Everyone but me asleep by 8pm from fresh air, scuba diving and beers watching the sunset / another first for me to be the last one awake in our party. Pleased everyone is getting some rest before the big New Year’s Eve fireworks and parties on the beach tomorrow.Read more

Back in grand cayman for our 5th year - and moved up to a different area of the beach. Back to our favourite Yoshi sushi which we booked even before we landed on the island.
Lots of diving this year. Today - emily and toby went in the afternoon and dominik went all day. Oliver composed some music for his Xmas vacation homework as you do ......Read more

So we survived the bumpy little flight here and realised we have another night in a bed in a lodge here before we head into the canyon. So I have some cell reception. Met the rest of our 19 person group. They seem really fun and we already have a tab at the bar at the lodge.Read more

Recovering from a rough start to the trip last night. Thunderstorms in Dulles meant we left 2:30 late so arrived in Vegas at 11pm local time. Then unusually toby left his bag on the plane so we had another45 min delay while we sorted they out. Needless to say we crashed hard when we finally got to the hotel at midnight local time (3am east coast time). Today has been easy / swimming at the pool- and sushi later followed by seeing O by cirque de soleil. Then off to the wilderness tomorrow 🤣Read more
What a start! As you know I am a great D:Ream fan, so ‘Things can only get better!!’ Good luck to all!

So the trip improved with some time by the pool yesterday , a nice sushi meal and seeing cirque de soleil -O. Definitely the most amazing show I have ever seen. Hard to describe but it is the largest swimming pool in the US and it seems to appear and disappear as the performers do amazing dances dives etc. You can’t take photos apart from the very end. Then last night in a bed last night / off to the airport for our little charter plane to the canyon. Ativan at the ready !!Read more
So things got better quickly Nici! Sounds an amazing show. We love Oliver’s hair- so he now has a long term ambition to join the British army to march and protect Buckingham Palace without needing any extra headgear!? Guess you won’t read this til the end of the rafting so we look forward to your next post!!

We decided to try parasailing this morning and booked for 10am. Oliver wasn’t feeling up to it so I decided to take the plunge. Not really a plunge - more of a feeling of being let out like a kite. Amazing fun and amazing views. Would very much recommend it. Even to us scaredy cats 🐈.Read more
Looks both scary and great fun! From the straps it can take 3 people at once- you wouldn't fancy that especially if the middle one was my weight!!

Feeling very fortunate where our little apartment is located. We have a lovely quiet spot and a direct view of the ocean as well as the favourite spot for lots of lizard life. Sitting on the patio reading and enjoying the late evening softer heat is perfect.Read more

We have a car for a day to explore a bit and show Dominik the island. Walked up to hertz around 11am and couldn’t quite persuade toby to rent the big Volkswagen bus. So white Kia it was ...... we found pur favourite little pub on the water at the north of the island - had a cocktail - amusing that only dominik got carded not Emily. It was lovely to relax as the sun was setting.Read more
Super photo, they all look very happy with life, I would too if I was there!
