Winchester 2

Today's walk led us to an unfamiliar part of Winchester. Despite the looming threat of snow, we began with the first stop being our new favorite coffee shop. We enjoyed a long chat with the barista, who lives on a narrowboat and shares our enthusiasm for plant-based living.

Hoping to avoid busy streets, we followed footpaths like Nuns Walk along the Itchen River, passing Hyde Abbey Garden and Hyde Abbey Gatehouse. As snow began to fall, we reached The Hyde Tavern, a recommended spot, only to find it closed for another couple of hours.

Wet and hungry, we headed home, taking a longer route to rack up extra steps and mail a postcard to Lyra. Unfortunately, part of our path was closed for construction, ensuring we got more steps than planned.Weiterlesen
