Michelle Ortega Awww. Miss that view.
Viajante This is absolutely amazing! I love the pictures. How lucky you are to be able to visit a country most people have never seen, before it gets ruined by loads of tourists, too! It occurs to me that in a weird way, maybe corruption and inefficient government are protecting the wildlife. There are quite a few places that formerly had manatees but no longer do because the manatees are so slow-moving and unafraid that they have all been killed by motor boats.
Viajante Good observation, Felicia, about no tourists = more wildlife. I do love manatees, though the ones in Florida face significant challenges from two-legged and motors.
Dobbs Away II It’s true that once the road to Brazil is paved (which no one we spoke to believes is possible) that more tourists will come and it would be even easier to remove the big trees (and gold) from the area.
