Travelerlol... well... first of I did have meat good number of times on The Way... just a tad thinner. with that I had AWESOME and quite large steak the previous night I just have no idea what happened to the pictures although I am pretty sure that I did take them

Spent the rest of the morning in beautiful Alameda park.Park.

Went into St. Susanna chapel witch apparently is connected to Friends of Anglican Pilgrims
and has icons that are modeled after old Russian ones

And so on this early morning Laurie and I have started our extension to "the end of the earth" by committing ourselves to walk Camino Finisterre.

Leaving from Plaza Oibradorio we walked through streets of Santiago following the red footprints until we saw the usual marker ang soon got out of the city

What an accomplishment

My sweet wife on her 1st try did an astonishing 26km!!!
Needless to say she is tired but hopefully will rejuvenate nicely after a good night sleep.
We will attempt to hit the road perhaps slightly after 8:00am

If you refer to the maps these are oriented right to left which in a sense is correct since we are moving East to West.
The top map is competed and on the bottom one we currently are just below A Pena so that's the way point for reference.
You can see the contours of the path and marvel with me of her resilience as we obviously had to deal with some ups and downs but she conquered them all 👍❤

TravelerAllan, I just realized that in the past 43 days, you have traveled 5,000 k which is 3,106 miles. That is more miles than the width of the United States. You are amazing!

TravelerHave you actually WALKED that many miles? Or does the 5000 k include your flight from the US? (Even so, that is still amazing!!)

TravelerOK, so...the 5K would indeed be the whole trip incl the flight. the app starts tracking and counting the moment you activate the trip and since I activated in EWR the ticking started... at 3100 miles it woul beat PCT...🙃. That said the total distance of Camino Frances from St.Jean to Santiago de Compostela is about 790 km. considering that I did skip some sections, I would estimate my total mileage at about 670km give or take and by the end of Finisterre extension it will be additional 90 km

We stopped for some soft drinks and chocolate croissant and ate some fruit that we brought from our morning Albergue with us.
