Nowhere to run to baby...
Ridiculously short stage today so a very late start and desayuno numero uno in albergue restaurant.
The morning staple:
Zuma, Grande coffee con Leche, Tortilla bravas

Today I'm beginning to see a little bit more of the crowds if you will that were promised me I would see after Sarria

Matkaajayes he started 2 days ago and walked maybe 35km. I started 32 days ago and walked like 650....😁 seriously I think I was preoccupied with the way the selfies was going

MatkaajaJust dropping you a quick Hello....Seems your pilgrimage has been very fulfilling so far. Slowing down to a walk is very good for the mind and refreshing for the soul. Letting the fast pace of the world fall aside and letting yourself enjoy all the beauty around you is very empowering to the soul. Thanks for allowing me to follow your journey. Be Blessed my friend.

Inglesia de Santa Maria de Leboreiro
Gothic church that also features some coceptions characteristic of the Romanesque style. It has a rectangular nave and circular apse; its main façade stands out, with an arch and ogival archivolts. The interior features a 14th century image of Our Lady. There is also a panel of mural painting made in the second third of the 16th century, with depictions of the Flagellation of Christ, the Visitation of Mary to St. Elizabeth and the Martyrdom of St. Sebastian.

Entering Melide Daniel and I say our goodbyes as he pressed on to Arzua while I was at my destination du jour.

Almost immediately after I crossed the bridge a Spanish couple stuck a small convention with me. When they heard that I started in St.Jean Pied-de-Port they insisted to buy me a beer. Turned out their party was 3 sisters and their husbands..husband's... AND they were from Barcelona!
Estrella Galicia went down smooooooothly

Well another rainy day is in the forecast only this time it looks like it will go on all day 🥲
Meanwhile the daily game now is to get in front of all Spanish school field trips' kids that do start from Sarria and usually walk to Santiago for about 1 full week.

1 hour later it is still just cloudy and misty but I can feel the rain coming.
I descend onto forest path where trees form an entry arch and after that the path leads Bob Ross like only we knows where ...
Rainy, misty damp days are not Pilgrim's friends.
The Pilgrim's day is reasonably simple- get up, walk, get to next albergue, shower, do wash...
The problem here is that 99% of the time you hang you clothes to dry in any available open place (courtyards, meadows, balconies, decks,etc.) Where the nice sunshine will take care of business in no time flat
If ir rains you cannot do wash and you cant do dry outside so you dry inside and it's never fully dry and everything becomes damp ...Lue lisää

On the other side of the town I ran again into 2 ladies from Orrison whom I last saw in Burgos.
Finally got to ask them their names

Totally awesome place
Each bunk set up with descend amount of privacy, has it's own electricity, actual linnen and towels and plenty of space for everyone
There is a cool little inner courtyard that would've been neat to hangout if the weather was nice...

Matkaajamost albergues have various games and books. this Jengo did belong to Albergue. but I take it if anyone wants to carry some games of course they can... I mean after all "it's my Camino!" 🙃

Santiago is only like 40km away

Very very very late....

I guess playing games last night did a number on us because every one of us got up extremely late and then just decided to have whatever breakfast was available in the albergue
We met David and Anna from NY

Milosz and Paula we're really late because they decided to finish off the out meal that they cooked last night so the rest of us headed on our wayLue lisää
