On the map this stage looks reasonably flat
in reality we had about four of these constant ups and downs
not as high as a mountain more like molehills but nonetheless very challenging

The church of Santa María de la Asunción located in Viana ( Navarra , Spain ) is a religious building built between 1250 and 1312.
Of course my interest was to find the grave of Cesare Borgia the son of Pope Alexander VI and for all purposes the Machiavellian Prince

César Borgia died during a treacherous ambush, in Viana, on March 12, 1507.
Initially buried in a Sepulcher inside the church in the sixteenth century his remains were dragged out and buried in the plaza before church
later on reburied again at the top platform of the steps to the church with the inscription that you see hereもっと詳しく

Like I've said before this map is very deceptive
it was a lot harder than it looks but being just a straight line but we have survived...

旅行者yup and almost a private room. Carol (see Albergue Victoria in Ciruena next day) and I had 2 beds out of 5... thought that was it.. then a young Asian kid showed up well past 10pm (he walked front Viana..almost 30 km). Still was plenty of space and I even grabbed an extra pillow 🙃

Please bear in mind that this is Sunday
I'm in a quite small village for all purposes so the choices are limited: there's only one restaurant with a small menu
with that said there is the salad with Croquettes calamari french fries and whatever is left of my bowl of Spanish olives 🫒 🙃
Oh yeah and 1/2 glass of rioja tinto...sorry couldn't resistもっと詳しく

Because of the crazy Bed Race situation on Camino nowadays one has to sleep where one can
at this particular stage I could get a bed before the end of the stage on the map
So for the next couple of days I will be in between the map stages
