TransAmerica Trail

Kind folks and Subaru owners in Lake City, CO, loaning us their driveway to camp at, and house to use bathroom. We conquered all of Cinnamon Pass, saw Animas Forks, and part of California Pass until the Subaru gave up going up on a steep switchback grade. Bypass was all snowed in. No power at 12,600 or so elevation. Turned around and went Cinnamon all the way back to Lake City (not knowing County Road 2 going south to Silverton from Animas Forks was an easy road to take. Deviated from Animas backwards to Lake City, then up 149 to 25 gravel road, to hwy. 50 to Montrose to Flowers Subaru (stellar team!!), then to Ouray for the day. Taking long bypass around San Juan range, and taking a much-needed day off from TAT.Les mer
