We thought we'd do a recce of the Gardenarge service here and enjoyed two nights in the bay.

Had brunch at the Yacht club and a shopping trip into Nidri.

Kuoni

Lined ashore close to the small village of Kuoni. There still are a few fishing boats but tourism is its main trade now. However it is done very tastefully with a selection of good tavernas, a few nice bars particularly the cocktail bar on the first floor with the view of the bay, and some great jewellery shops.
Had a splendid meal with Christopher and Tom going for the tomahawk steak which we all agreed must have been a scarily huge pig!!
The afternoon's entertainment was Gemma and her strawberry float and a 44 foot cat who kept the bay although not our neighbours amused with the worse piece of anchoring I have ever seen, resulting in them hitting our neighbours after putting out only one line and wedging the other side on our neighbours stern line. We were all relieved when they left without an apology.

Party night in Effimia

We had a two part evening last night. Lovely dinner with Hans and Gabby and then the "kids" arrived. So excited to have Christopher, Gemma, Victoria and Tom on the boat ans inevitably it was a late late night, in fact an early morning!!!Les mer

Home in Effimia

We have been in our home port now for two nights and we had to motor here, then last night it blew like crazy, so annoying.
Anyway we did a reccie in Antisamos and finally got to swim, then checked out Sami before arriving here.
If you want to know where Mark Zuckerberg takes his holidays he is currently in Sami, we bumped into him and his two support boats in the bay, Launchpad and wingman 1 and 2 were anchored until we heard someone purporting to be the revenue telling them they didn't recognise their Marshall Island registration and they should pay their taxes 🤣🤣
When we arrived we found our friends Hans and Gabby are here on their way to the Pelopenese which was a lovely surprise and we have had a great catch up.
We have a small issue with one of the engines so we have arrived early to get it fixed before Christopher, Gemma, Victoria and Tom arrive.
The village is our favourite, we come so often we are recognised now, although that may change as we have fallen in love with the Pelopenese and may change our allegiance !Les mer

Poros stopover

As we needed fuel and the weather promised a swell, confirmed by a couple we met anchored in the bay, we decided to give ourselves a night alongside in Poros harbour.
We soon worked out why we now prefer to anchor!
Had a late lunch in the lovely cave bar Remetzo and chilled on the net for the rest of the day. Late afternoon the swell proved to much for some and the harbour filled to capacity.
Still didn't get my swim as the water by the cave bar was filthy, looks like it's floated in from somewhere.Les mer

Dinner at Agios Nikolaos

A very windy evening in the bay and tight for anchoring but the team from the restaurant were really good at getting you on a buoy. It was very busy as we picked the wrong night, it was Greek dancing night at the restaurant . Had a lovely meal and marvelled at the guys on the cat next to being able to sort of manage their dingy ashore as they had been on the anchor beers all afternoon 🍻🎉. They were definitely enjoying themselves.
Nice stopover but the place is soulless compared to all the other stunning places we have visited.
I was hoping to get a swim in as the jellyfish put me off the day before but alas some moron hadn't closed their sea cocks so I will have to wait 🤨💩Les mer

Our last stop as we leave the Pelopenese and didn't even go ashore as we arrived late about 7.30pm. So after our anchor beer we had dinner and watched the cruise ship depart. I had looked forward to a swim when we arrived but found our boat surrounded by huge jelly fish so gave it a miss.
Quiet night and woke this morning to another enormous cruise ship arriving. The chart says 7m where they are but their draft is always nearer 9 so don't know how they get in, maybe they have dredged the dock.
Anyway off the Zakynthos today.Les mer
