It is great to get excited about cooking at home but when time is limited, cooking often becomes a chore. Putting a little bit of time and thought into dinners can create variety and some very tasty home cooked meals that are not very time consuming and don’t break the bank either. These are some meals from the last couple of months……. Yum Yum Yum!Read more

It was great to see all the boys again, we always have such a great time 😊
The Crew, big boss and Mayor Les, Keith, Craig, Steve (fark yooo lol), Jarod, Nick, Huey, Rob, Danny, Ted, Johnny Robba, Donny and Dave. We all pitch in, cooking, cleaning, getting g organised, fixing breakdowns and of course paying out on each other constantly.
The weekend was full of laughter, beers and plenty of shooting, that property now has 323 less feral pigs on it destroying the place.

  • Cleanup and Overnight Stop at Gilgandra

    June 9, 2025 in Australia ⋅ ☁️ 9 °C

Most had left, so we cleaned up everything at Coonamble, including ourselves in the hot tub and then set off for Gilgandra. We pulled into Lawrence and Lisa’s place where we set up camp in the shearing sheds for the night. It was freezing outside but we walked a lot and managed to get seven pigs including a massive sow that Shaun blasted with the 243. In the morning we caught up with Mick and Colleen for a cuppa before heading home at lunch time.
It was a great extended long weekend and just what I needed 😎

  • Relaxing Sunday

    June 15, 2025 in Australia ⋅ ☀️ 17 °C

I’m going in for knee surgery tomorrow so a relaxing Sunday is just what the Doctor ordered. Dropped the kids off to ride their bikes at Palm Valley and had a cuppa with Nadia and Andre. Then lunch at Shelly surf club, coffee n croissant at Crackneck checking out the whales, a trip out to pelican island in the tinny with Jetty, then dinner and a show with the boys watching a storm roll in. It was great weather and I had a great time hanging out with the Lauren and the Boys, and I put up with Jett 😜Read more

  • Surgery Time - New ACL

    June 16, 2025 in Australia ⋅ ☀️ 16 °C

The time had come to get a full rebuild on my right knee.
Hospitals these days are so organised, like they have been designed to cater for the worlds most hard to please people 😂
They explain everything to you in a super nice way, as not to scare you. They gave me local anaesthetic to put the cannula in, as not to cause any pain whatsoever. You get warm blankets and Valium which makes you feel as if you are floating on a warm cloud before entering the surgery, and then you wake up in bed with a lovely nurse tending to your every need, offering sandwiches, deserts and drinks. Everyone has been super lovely, it’s been great 😊
And no chance of getting hungry 😋

Don’t think home will be this good…. Hahaha

  • Couch Potato

    June 21, 2025 in Australia ⋅ ☀️ 19 °C

Haven’t done much all week but have been looked after by Loz and the boys. Couldn’t manage to convince the boys to give me a sponge bath so Lauren got the privilege.
We got out for a pork roll and some bakery deserts Friday, and enjoyed them at the beach. I also found a tick probably from the shooting trip which has left a nasty itchy lump.
It’s so funny, Jett hears our phone 360 notifications and knows someone will be home, so he waits at the front window for them.
Bought myself a new bike to strengthen those knees. I’ve been looking at them for 12 months and half price was too hard to pass up. Something to look forward to! Bring on the trails. I am so excited about this bike, it’s my dream mountain bike 😊

  • Winners! Lachlan’s School Rugby Gala Day

    June 24, 2025 in Australia ⋅ ☀️ 19 °C

Lachie’s school played the knockout gala day and won all three games, putting them through to the semifinal for Sydney North and another day off school.
Lachlan’s teacher and coach Mr Wilson is an absolute champion, he is so good with the kids and we are so lucky to have him at the school. He has out of his own personal time been training the kids twice a week after school and Wow! Did it show. He teaches the kids that you are only as good as your weakest players, so it is up to the better kids to help teach the kids like Lachlan that have never played before. He also has ingrained an impeccable team spirit in the boys, someone makes a mistake and they are consoled and told heads up, let’s all fire up and make up for it together. Mr Wilson is one of the quietest coaches on the side line, because his teachings have the boys doing everything themselves. Watching the more experienced boys vocally yelling and organising the team was great. They all chanted together Hold! Hold! Hold! Chop his legs! Taking down the other team’s monster front row forwards together. There are a couple of outstanding players such as Braiden, Cooper, Cassius and two smaller boys which I don’t know their names. Together they made outstanding runs, tackles and tries, with the backup of team.
In the first game, Lachlan took a try saving catch of a kicked ball I will remember forever. It was very close to their try line and was going so fast, I didn’t even know where it went and Lachie had caught it without knocking it on and diffusing the situation. This in my opinion was the toughest team they played and they were only up 3 tries to 2. They ended up winning 4 tries to 2 but I feel he really stepped up and without this phenomenal catch the game would have been much closer.
Watching all the boys play together for each other was great and I’m very pleased I was there to witness it 😊

  • Palm Builz

    July 8, 2025 in Australia ⋅ 🌙 12 °C

These holidays, the kids spent most of their time at Ander’s property.

They usually are building bike jumps, but this holidays they built a hut, compete with a sunset deck.

After multiple sleepovers, many trips to Bunnings for supplies, long days building, hanging out with mates, bon fires and staying up most of the night , the hut was completed just in time to head back to school.

These kids are so clever, measuring, cutting, problem solving, designing, working together and testing their design. Future builders and designers right here.

It was great having them come home so pumped, talking about their build, explaining what they have done, how they did it and all the extra features that were added along the way.

Can’t wait to see what they build next holidays.

  • Bye Bye Caravan 😢

    August 2, 2025 in Australia ⋅ 🌧 15 °C

    Time to say goodbye 😔
She will be sadly missed, so many great memories, but now it is time to part ways.
She cleaned up like new which made saying goodbye to our home of three years so much harder. I feel like we all grew so much, learning skills and confidence in the face of new challenges and adventures whilst living and travelling together as a family in the van.
When she was picked up, the wind and rain belted down as if she was begging us not to let her go and reminding us of our six months spent together in the wettest town in Australia….. Babinda! Which also holds some of our fondest memories.
Just like when we travelled, we will continue trying to live our lives with no regrets, and with that in mind, it is onto the next adventures 😎

  • Being a dog mum….

    August 3, 2025 in Australia ⋅ 🌧 16 °C

Being a good dog mum means, Jett gets to go for a walk, even when it is raining.

On Saturday, Jodi and I risked our lives in the rain, wind and the thunder to get our fur babies out of the house.

On Sunday, Brett and I took Jett for a drive, but again I got suckered into taking him out for a walk in the rain!

    God dam those sad eyes!
