    3 nights here ate out at the pub and julie won the mothers day prize pack. Wet couple of days with wet pack up. Took the Isuzu 4wd in deepwater park. Had our little fire going under Michael’s awning.

    Stayed at beachfront park great spot right on beach. Julies tooth bad 1st trip to dentist.

    Mackay bit boring Julies tooth sore went to caravan show on the Sunday, liked the musketeer recliner but $106k. Got fish and chips 1 night. Blue lagoon next to park had lot of bird life.     Split rock aboriginal art, Larua for morning tea publican taken by crocodile recently. Bridge to nowhere, railway bridge built but never used.

    Stopped at archer river roadhouse morning tea coffee worst on trip just instant. Merluna very pretty lush and green, bird walks. Had a walk next morning. Played darts in camp kitchen. Fig tree grown into cattle yard rails.Read more

    Arrived into town quick look around and lunch for eco tour at 12pm saw 5 estuarine crocs 1 @ 4.2 metres called fluffy. Azure kingfisher and jabiru sighted. Power this night and nice grassy site. Had time for walk this next morning as didn’t leave till 12.30Read more

    Stopped at Bramwell junction for coffee and fuel top up photo in front of termite-mounds. Great day doing cockatoo crossing on the old telegraph track on the way to elliot falls. Collected firewood and had good fire but rain sent us to bed about 9 pm Floated down using noodleriver from saucepan to Elliott falls then jumped in falls pool and floated down to twin falls lots of grazes and scratches on rocks.

    Another 2 creek crossings continuing up the old telegraph track, canal creek and sand creek. Michael hogged all good driving today 🤓.
    On 13 June, we drove out to Somerset Beach where we looked at the old Jardine home and remains. Went to the tip today, long walk over the Rocky Hills and then we did the five beach drive back to the crock tent and then had lunch yet, Punsand Bay resort , then for dinner, we went to loyalty beach where we sat and watch the sunset over the sea
    On 14 June, we did the pedals ferry across to Thursday Island and then a bus to around the island. Looked at the old gum placements and had a counter lunch at the Taurus pub and then came back and just had cheese and biscuits for tea for our last night in Sacia And during that night, the bloody horse went through our camp kitchen and knocked everything down and did a great big shit

    Left Seisia this morning and drove to Fruitbat Falls where we had a swim. Also had lunch at Fruitbat Falls, then drove to Bramwell Junction where we stopped for an ice cream.     Okay today we left Bramwell station and went down to Batavia goldfields and had some lunch there saw several snakes on the road and we believe them to be the coastal taipan which has three toxins and is the most deadliest snake in Australia.   • Kalpowar crossing

    Drove from Archer river to Coen for fuel fill, shop, morning tea and look at the gold heritage museum. Next stop Musgrave roadhouse for lunch 🥙 pie and sausage roll. Then on to Lakefield national park lots of birdlife, stopped at white lily lagoon for some photos no croc sightings yet but a beautiful Azure Kingfisher spotted at Saltwater creek.Read more

    Late pack up at 9 o’clock at Kalpowar Crossing on the Normanby River drove to cat fish Creek to look for crocodiles but nothing to be seen because it was an overcast and coolish morning. Then drove onto the old Laura station where we had a good look around and morning tea. continued onto Cooktown and stopped at Isabella Falls where we had some lunch and look around the falls. Then we went to into Cooktown another 35k’s and the that’s where we’re set up here for two nights to have a look around Cooktown. Fish and chips for tea by the wharf tonight and a few beers at the bowling club.Read more

    Had a walk this morning and we have nice bacon and egg muffin for breakfast then. Julie and michael did a bit of washing and then we went up to Cape Bedford. We had a little bit of lunch in the visitors park by the beach and then we drove down to the coloured Sands Along the beach and drove as far as the kite surfing school and then turned back again and then walked up and had a look at the coloured sands and saw to Ahmed the six wheel trucks, then drove back to Cooktown. Went up to the grassy hill look out and took some photos back to the caravan park for an ice cream and tonight it’s down at the sovereign pub for dinnerRead more

    Early this morning and packed up breakfast at the cafe at the botanic Gardens in Cooktown. Then had a look around at Finch Beach. Very nice at all the beach then went to the Cooktown Museum spent an hour there then met up at 12:30 after we had a salad bowl for lunch And onto Archer point where we stopped for photos then to the Black Mountain look out where we’re going. Stop the photos and then into the Lions Den very short drive today only about 80 k’s.Read more
