  • See You Soon, Not Goodbye

    August 12, 2025 in the United States ⋅ ☁️ 93 °F

Today the adventure begins—we’re off to London to kick off our four-month journey! Before the excitement, though, came the hard part: goodbyes.

First, Papa and Grammy. We’ve shared the same neighborhood since I was 12, never apart for more than a month. This will be a first, and we’ll miss them deeply.

Next, Titus. Four months apart is our record by far. We dropped him at the airport as he heads into his sophomore year at Lipscomb in Nashville—cheering him on from afar.

Finally, a quick farewell to Ashton and his girlfriend Madi, who just happened to be in Portland. And then… it was just us, two small carry-ons, and a very big trip ahead.

Packing four months of clothes into one tiny suitcase and backpack was no small feat—more on that packing magic soon!

We just wrapped up a sweet time at my parents’ beautiful home in Bend, where the days were filled with conversations, yummy meals, lovely bike rides, and walks along the Deschutes Trail. Now it’s just a few more days of packing and list-checking before our big adventure begins!Read more

  • Redmond Rhythms

    August 2, 2025 in the United States ⋅ ☁️ 86 °F

We spent our first official week of retirement tucked into the cozy rhythms of Kennadi and Sam’s home in Redmond. Their space is full of life and laughter (and animals!), and it’s been the perfect landing spot for our first slow days. We’ve soaked in mountain air on hikes, chased sunsets, and started discovering what it means to move without a schedule. It’s peaceful, joy-filled, and a reminder that this new chapter holds rest, connection, and quiet adventure.Read more

  • Loved Into Our Next Chapter

    July 27, 2025 in the United States ⋅ ☀️ 81 °F

In our final days as a music teacher and a children’s pastor, we were deeply moved by the outpouring of love from our schools and church family. Saying goodbye to work we’ve poured our hearts into wasn’t easy — we held both the sweetness of being celebrated and the ache of leaving behind what we’ve loved. Our communities honored us with such grace and kindness, making us feel deeply seen, cherished, and sent out with blessing. These goodbyes weren’t just endings — they were love notes that will walk with us into what’s next.Read more

  • Rooted in Love, Ready to Roam

    July 17, 2025 in the United States ⋅ ☀️ 84 °F

Hi friends and family! We’ve been together since middle school—next-door neighbors who fell in love young and built a life rooted in faith, family, and calling. For decades, we’ve poured ourselves into raising our kids, serving as teachers, and walking out our ministry. Now, with our children grown and the milestone of retirement behind us, we get to step into a dream we’ve held for years.

So, we’re heading out on an eight-month sabbatical around the world—visiting 20 countries across Europe and Asia—to rest, connect, and rediscover wonder.

We’re hoping to catch glimpses of heaven, encounter God in the unexpected, and see with fresh eyes how He’s moving in faces and places far from home.

We’d love to have you follow along. Let the adventure begin!

  • Letting Go to Go

    July 11, 2025 in the United States ⋅ ☀️ 86 °F

This is where it begins—we sold the home we built and raised our family in. Over the course of a year, we listed nearly 100 items on Facebook Marketplace, donated carloads, cried more than a few tears, and condensed 30 years of life into a 10x15 storage unit.

Saying goodbye to the place that held our family, memories, and rhythms wasn’t easy. But we knew—deep in our bones—it was time. Time to release the familiar and make space for something new.

This footprint holds the cost and the gift of going and we’ve never felt so ready… or so free.

    Here we go.
