Combe Martin to Woolacombe

23 km which took us 9 hours! Pretty challenging but spectacular scenery along the north Devon coast. Up market hotel, which included a bath - heavenly!
Having never swum in an English sea, in spite of living in the UK for a year and visiting in many, many times, Claire went for a dip in the ocean as soon as we got here! Probably one of the few proper beaches (Woolacombe is a holiday place) it looks really lovely and has real sand. We walked at least 300 m to get to the water. ‘Invigorating!’, she said. I got some great photos.

Another picnic in our room; the hotel was much too expensive (our G and Ts cost $13 each but were elaborate and delicious) and all the takeaways closed at 8:00 pmLes mer
