  • Part 4 of Day 13

    10 août 2024, Italie ⋅ ☀️ 37 °C

    Attenzione! Attezione!
    BORSEGGIATRICI!!!
A female tried to pickpocket me. She picked the wrong Salvi🤬 I guess I stood out because my hands were full with a soda in one hand and a grocery bag in another but I felt a pull. I looked down and she had already unzipped my fanny. Instantly I knew what was happening and I turned around, hit the woman and said, "You trying to take my shit!" She took off and William went after her and got her photo. Rox had shown me you tube videos and I know its a problem here. You never think its going to happen to you. I got lucky she didnt get anything. Got my adrenaline going. I did get to scream pick pocket 6 times like the video. That was cool... just like the lady on you tube. Watch the videos. They scatter like roaches.
After being a tourist, we needed to get chores done. William got a hair cut and I got a mani... huge TY to Kim who does my nails back home. I had a mani done with gel color on 6/16 and it lasted till today 9/10 with only 2 chips. This mani only lasted 6 hrs before my 1st chip 🙃

  • Day 14 Florence Day 4

    11 août 2024, Italie ⋅ ☁️ 29 °C

Our last day in Florence. Last day to get a few more sights in. On our way to our 1st stop, we saw the réplica of the Statue of David. It cost 90 euros to see the real David but we're good with the fake, lol
Then we went into the biggest museum I have ever seen. The Museum of Uffizi. It was so massive, it felt like it was never going to end. So many statues. They are my favorite as u can see from all my statue photos. The details in the marbel is astonishing.

Our 2nd stop was the Palazzo Pitti.
My favorite part of this visit were all the dresses. The détail in the silk. I felt like I was on a set of all my BBC shows I watch. I have always joked that I must have been British in a past life because I love watching all types of shows on the BBC channel. This art display also had modern art. It showed costumes throughout all décades to présent. Nothing compares to the gowns from centuries ago.En savoir plus

  • Part 4 Day 14

    11 août 2024, Italie ⋅ ☁️ 37 °C

Our last stop was the Gardens of Boboli. Not sure why we were walking outside when it was 105 but we did. The gardens were so big and spread out. The famous Neptune fountain was a disappointment but the gardens and views were beautiful. The grotto was under construction being repaired.
You can only see so many painting and statues in 1 day. We went back to our apartment, took a nice cold shower and napped. Boy was it lovely😊

    11 août 2024, Italie ⋅ 🌙 31 °C

Thank you to my beautiful friends (you know who you are) and Daughter for the tasty bday Dinner William and I had tonight. We went to a top rated steak house and had their best peice of meat. Florence is known for their steaks. We couldn't finish the meal, and we didn't want it to go to waste so we offered it to the 3 young men next to us and they finished it off. They ordered the same steak but they Split it by 3. They were so thankful that they bought us a strong cocktail as a TY. It was weird offering complete strangers our food and I can tell they also felt odd taking it but why not... we might just be sitting next to eachother but we can be kind and loving also even as strangers. We all got a good laugh out of it. The servers told they young men they scored. I'm grateful it didn't go to waste and that they enjoyed more steak too😋🙏En savoir plus

  • Part 3 Day 15

    12 août 2024, Italie ⋅ 🌙 28 °C

We were the last ones in the pool. It was fantastic to have the whole pool to ourselves. Looks like there are about 50 or less people
stating at this wine resort so it's quit, calm, picturesque, and it smells fantastic. The smell of pine trees. There is no smell that I love more 🥰❤️En savoir plus

  • Day 16 Tuscany Day 2

    13 août 2024, Italie ⋅ 🌩️ 31 °C

Staycations need to be mandatory for everyone. We will be doing these back home more often. It's a reset the soul needs. Breakfast out on the patio was lovely. We finally started to talk about the Camino and reflect on our experience. We truly miss it. The walking especially. On your end it might sound crazy. How can you miss walking 18 to 24 miles a day is what your asking. But it's simple. We do. And I see why people go back and do it over and over. There are 35+ different Caminos you can do and I know this isnt our last.
We went and check out the town of San Gimignano

Havasupi in Italy... going thru the city of Colle di Val d'essai. What a gem. There was a waterfall but we didn't get to it because we thought it was going to be a 12 mile hike but we were misinformed. No worries, we'll catch it next time. There were other tourists there thinking like us. Yes, it's nice to see the popular sites but it's also invigarating to step out of the norm and try the road less traveled. We gotta take risks sometimes. And sometimes it might not turn out like you thought and thats ok. We chose to make it fun and easy regardless. But today, we hit the big one😁En savoir plus

After our waterfall adventure, we had a pleasant drive back to the resort and back in the pool. We were the last ones at the pool again and we loved it. We washed up and decided to stay in and not go out to dinner. Hair wrapped in a towel, robes on provided by the resort, made a buffet of all the snacks we had on us and watched a Bourne movie. We both looked at each other and with no words we knew what we both felt and thought. We love each other, we're blessed and we have an amazing life🥹🙏💓 exhale...En savoir plus

  • Day 17 Tuscany Day 3

    14 août 2024, Italie ⋅ ☀️ 31 °C

We didn’t leave the pool all day. No videos or much photos taken today, Sorry. Our last night here. Tuscany is known for their wine but especially the Chianti. Even though I'm not a wine drinker, I couldn't leave without having a glass with dinner. William had a giant ravioli stuffed with wild boar and I had a giant ravioli stuffed with potatoe purée. The appetizer was who knows what but we tried it. Dinner on the patio in Tuscany with the moon bright, hanging sparkling lights under the umbrellas, classical music in the back ground with one of the best spiritual beings I get to call Husband... ✅️En savoir plus

  • Day 18 travel day to Naples

    15 août 2024, Italie ⋅ ☀️ 31 °C

We left Tuscany. On our way to Naples but just for the night. Sorento is our destination for the next few days. Had to switch trains but this time in Rome. We'll be back here in a few days to check out some little fountain and a little rinky dink city called the vatican. Lol
Even though its been a long 8 hrs of trains, low key, we're still smiling and making it fun and easy😁

  • Day 19 Ischia

    16 août 2024, Italie ⋅ ⛅ 29 °C

Naples by the train station was a scary town when you are walking the streets to your hotel room at midnight. 1st time this entire trip I had to look over my shoulder. Was not fun...
I bet there is nice parts of the city and tons of historic places to see so I don't wanna be too judgey. We rode the ferry to an island called Ischia instead of seeing Capri. We'll catch that island next time. We rented a scooter and off we went exploring. We asked where the locals go so we went swimming at a beach called Spaggio dei Maronti. Water was not cold but refreshing.En savoir plus

  • Part 2 Day 19

    16 août 2024, Italie ⋅ ⛅ 28 °C

When I 1st met William, he had a red Honda motorcycle and I rode in the back all the time. Today was a flashback of those days except on a little bike compared to his intercepter. Not always easy to have no control and ride in the back. Shut my eyes a fews times and held on for my dear life but it was fun. By the looks, we were the only Americans at the local crowded Italian beach.En savoir plus

  • Part 3 Day 19 to Sorrento

    17 août 2024, Italie ⋅ ☁️ 27 °C

I know you've seen the movie Under the Tuscan Sun and I know you know the scene I'm referring to in the video. Sorrento has been on my 🪣 bucket list since then. We'll be here for a few days and we'll be exploring the sights. This is one of those places where you can spend a week here and not do everything. Our hotel is lovely and not far from the center of town. Our trip is starting to come to a close. At different times, we get the feeling after 58+ days that home sounds fantastic and we're ready. We are going to enjoy this last week ahead. Rome is our last stop. Then we fly home 🏡 😁En savoir plus

  • Day 20 Almafi Coast

    17 août 2024, Italie ⋅ ☁️ 28 °C

Amalfi coast is something to see. I loved it here. As you've seen, William and I are not your typical tourists but here we were. We walked the town, bought some souvenirs and enjoyed the refreshing lemon sorbet. You all know that I love me some 🍋 especially in my water.
The 1st church we saw was very old and it goes back centuries.

The MUA squad showed up for the 1st time and dolled me up and with lashes too. We saw a long line for a restaurant the night before, so I wanted to try it. We waited almost 2 hrs in line. I had the best spaghetti 🍝 and meatballs ever. Also, that was the 1st restaurant that I saw had spaghetti with meatballs. It's not a common dish in italy, and neither is ice. Back home, I get extra ice in everything. Here, you're lucky to get 2 ice cubes. In Spain, they would give you one. We asked for a bucket of ice at our hotel and got what you saw in the photo. I put a little bottle of soap so you can compare the size of the bucket. I will never take ice for granted.En savoir plus

  • Day 21 Last Day in Sorrento

    18 août 2024, Italie ⋅ ⛅ 28 °C

We kept it low key and stayed in Sorrento. We woke up to rain and thunderstorms and the sound was calming. Another lovely town on a cliff with a relaxing vibe. So much you can see but just can't get it all done in 4 days when you visit other towns. We also had laundry to do so staying close to home was ideal. We had breakfast and off we went. Here, we stopped by 2 churches and a cliff in the middle of town where there was an old mill.En savoir plus

  • Part 2 of Day 21

    18 août 2024, Italie ⋅ ⛅ 28 °C

The cove was picturesque. Stuff you see in post cards or movies, and you say to yourself, "I wanna go there." Jumping off cliffs is scary but William didn't think about it too long and jumped right off into the ocean. His adventures soul is inviting and contagious and I love that about him. It motivates me to be more opened minded and willing to not let fear be my guide but instead turn the fear to excitement/motivation and step up and take the plunge myself. When your partner helps you be your best version, he's a keeper and I'm blessed🥰😳🙏
We also visited a 2nd church and Villa Fiorentino

William says the cliff jump was minimum 15 feet but up to 18. There were 2 girls from NY up there also scared to do the jump like I was. You almost can't think about it too long, or you won't do it. Low key, I was shaking, and the 2 girls eventually jumped before me, and with them and William cheering me on, I finally jumped. You got to see my 2nd jump. The landing wasn't pretty, and I had water go up my noise, but no hesitation this time 💪En savoir plus
