    Cordillera Blanca

    The Cordillera Blanca is an impressive mountain range with very high peaks and a lot of snow/ice. Unfortunately we had many cloudy days, so we couldn't enjoy the views that well, but it was still impressive!Read more

    We decided to go back to the coast once more after we heard good stories about Pacasmayo. We ended up staying 5 nights here, which is really long for us, but we really liked the kitesurfing here and there was a nice campsite.Read more

    Huanchaco

    Maybe our last day at the coast, from here we will be travelling through the mountains to Cuzco which is going to be a slow and long journey along probably bad roads. Huanchaco is a surf village and known for a type of boat (totora) that was maybe the first prototype for a surfboard. For us the village was just a stop before starting the journey into the mountains.Read more

    Today we crossed the high peaks of the NP Huascaran, a beautiful pass, but unfortunately on our way North the road was fully washed away, and our 4x4 could have gone through the river to bypass this problem but... A truck tried this and was stuck in the mud, blocking the road for us. So unfortunately we had to go all the way back through the NP and slept maybe 20 km from the night before 😂😂Read more

    Carhuaz to la Union

    Today we made a new attempt to cross the NP Huascaran via a different road and went through the village of Chavin de Huantar. This is well known because of the ruins/civilisation of Chavin. We went to the museum which was quite impressive with lots of interesting stone carvings.
    We stayed overnight in a hotel in La Union. Sometimes we do not find an appropriate place to camp 😎    Read more

    This was such a nice surprise for us, we knew in the dry season this river would be of a beautiful color, but we were here just at the end of rainy season, in fact while we were wildcamping near to the place it rained at night, so our expectations were low...

    Again very scenic route, parts of it very very bad (our fault for choosing WikiLoc route over Google Maps 🤣). We came past really pretty 'smurf' houses/caves were in earlier times people used to live
