    Amazing architecture, history and food, just scratched the service today. Washington Square is actually built on top of thousands of unmarked graves from Washington’s army he led in the revolutionary war, his words very powerful. Seeing where the Declaration of Independence was drafted, the liberty bell, so many things that evoke unique emotions when seen and experienced in person.Okumaya devam et

    NYC

    I have always been curious of what the NYC pace would be like, and it’s been exciting getting a feel for it today. I can see how someone can become addicted to it. But also can see it’s not for everyone.

    Spent a nice chunk of our afternoon / evening biking thru Central Park. Gabe was to little for the city bikes so he brought his scooter and kept up like a champ.

    Oliver and I spent some time enjoying a couple French jazz musicians (guitarist and percussionist/trumpet player) in the park, and a 20s something actress/singer was sitting next to us, and it was her birthday and so she sang with them for a little while for fun. Beautiful all around.

    Then we just drove around and got a preview of Manhattan-very cool.

    More NY

    Was a fun day hitting a few fun food stops (one being Sala Thai which was amazing). Time Square was a little over crowded but cool to see.

    Got a great view of the City from Top of The Rock and also was able to see St Thomas Church which was breath taking. Got to spend a short moment at the NY Public Library and it was impressive. Wanted to see the Morgan Library but it was closing.

    So much to do and see in this City, we are just scratching the surface.    Okumaya devam et

    Portsmouth NH / Wells ME

    Left the hustle and bustle of our back to back city tour and heading to Maine to camp and explore the coastal towns.

    Stopped at a cool Farm/Brewery called Throwback Brewery along the way, felt a little like home.

    Enjoyed stretching our legs in Portsmouth, such a charming town founded in 1630, of about 20k people. Beautiful homes, waterways, and islands.

    Then got to camp near Wells MA and settled in.    Okumaya devam et

    Sleeping in the trees in Vermont

    Ended up between Montpelier and Burlington VT up in the mountains in a fun little treehouse. 1 town did their city fireworks on Sunday the 3rd and the other canceled theirs on the day of the 4th but we had fun just hanging out. Lots of stars, and lots of fireflies lighting up the clearing below us.

    Niagra Falls

    Found a cool campground with some fun stuff for the boys. They made fast friends with lots of kids there and it was nice to just enjoy a really beautiful evening.

    Then went to Niagara Falls at night, and I admit I thought it was going to be a big waterfall, but it was truly spectacular.Okumaya devam et

    Six Flags Day

    Gabe and Dad day, just enough rain to keep people away from six flags so we had short lines and was able to make it on every ride. Lots of fun, we both decided that the Superman ride was our favorite and got to that one twice, then finished the day with some beignets.

    Then we all met up and went to Portillo’s, and had a great dinner. The restaurant started in 1963 when the owner bought a hot dog cart for $1100.

    Quick visit to Chicago, had some incredible sandwiches at TriBecca’s and also some deep dish pizza from Lou Malnati’s. Very cool city, with some cool speak easys that will have to be checked out next time (like The Drifter which is under The Green Tavern and to access it you have to go down these stairs and access the doorknob hidden in a bookcase).

    The water of Lake Michigan was a cool turquoise color, and it was a beautiful sunny day when we got down to the water.

    Unfortunately a lot of things were going on due to the sad events that occurred at the 4th of July parade days earlier. (A lot of police and security around public areas)    Okumaya devam et

    Minneapolis Mall of America

    Got into Minneapolis last night and went to a movie theatre with recliners and watched Top Gun! It was epic! If you haven't seen it live yet we should all go! And Gabe has his next movie picked out. Then woke up and headed downtown to see the bridges and parks and have cardemon lattes. Then we headed to the Mall of America where the boys found some fly school clothes and mom and Gabe went on the log ride and enjoyed the amusement park in the middle!Okumaya devam et

    Mt Rushmore

    Headed to Rapid City on the way to Montana, and caught a quick glance at Mt Rushmore before they closed. Check it off the list!

    Found a giant candy store on the way and kept seeing these signs for Wells Drug Store and so we stopped and it took up two city blocks and had a lot of fun things to look at.Okumaya devam et

    Billings to Missoula MT

    Stopped in Billings yesterday on the way to Missoula, Justyn found a motel with a cool water slide. Saw a gorgeous sunset through a thunderstorm, but like a lot of the scenery, a camera didn’t do it justice.

    Passed the battle site of Little Big Horn / Custer’s Last Stand. It was interesting to imagine the battle playing out on those very hills.

    Homestake Pass just outside of Butte was cool, the mountains were all giant boulders.    Okumaya devam et

    8700 miles-Made it home! Such an amazing trip. We saw and experienced so much it’s hard to remember it all.

    Thank you for all those who supported us before and while we were gone, you are deeply appreciated.
