I climbed the hill in the dark and was rewarded with a beautiful sunrise. I met a lot of new pilgrims along the way. When I arrived at the hostel I had agreed with Nico, it was already full. All the hostels in the town were full, so they opened one a kilometer further back. I didn't feel like running back, and the weather was very nice, so I continued walking for another two hours, 12 km, and slept on the beach there again. There I could also watch the surfers and enjoy the sunset after 58,974 steps.Leggi altro

  • Ribadeo

    17 settembre 2024, Spagna ⋅ 🌙 17 °C

On the morning I was woken up by sunrise and immediately started my short route to Ribadeo. I had to walk half an hour to Decathlon to buy new shoes because mine were coming off. Afterwards I wanted to take the bus back to the hostel. I waited for 40 minutes and he didn't come so I had to run back. I tried autostop, but they don't know that here :/. When Nico arrived we went to a coffee shop where they had many different cakes on plates in the room. The sun was shining but it was very cold due to the strong wind. For dinner we had a watermelon-feta salad.Leggi altro

Tonight I was woken up by a concert of snoring. At 1 am I decided to move my things into the kitchen to continue sleeping there. After breakfast I set off and was able to start the day with a beautiful sunrise. With lots of sun and wind, I walked to my next hostel, where I was able to enjoy the last rays of sunshine in the owner's garden. Them I met Charlotte in the hostel because of my ability to open bleasters. For dinner I cooked my freshly picked corn and apples und cooked them togheter witch some tomato sauce and lime juice. I ended the evening with a slightly more special pasta sauce, which was very delicious, and great people.Leggi altro

    19 settembre 2024, Spagna ⋅ ☀️ 24 °C

I walked past many cemeteries to Mondoñedo. On the way I met a pilgrim for whom the Camino is a real challenge. She is vegan and travels with her dog, which limits her search for a hostel. Then I tackled a direct climb of 500 meters. When I got to the top I could barely see 5 meters because it was very foggy. On the way I saw a horse/cow skeleton spread across the path. Then I ran faster, it was a bit scary being all alone, somewhere in the middle of nowhere and an animal could come from somewhere at any time. Luckily, after a short time I met Maria, a pilgrim I already knew, and we continued walking together. When I arrived at the hostel I spent the rest of the afternoon with Ander and Adrian (Bleaster). In the evening we all ate together and played a little cards.Leggi altro

  • Santiago de Compostela

    23 settembre 2024, Spagna ⋅ ☁️ 16 °C

Today we arrived in Santiago de Compostela after an endless lunch. Together with the music from the bagpipes we went to the square in front of the cathedral. !880 km done! 💜thank you for the incredible time💜

We had an apartment in the center for the next two nights. It was a special feeling not having to pack everything up the next day. We went out in the evening and on the next day we made our first rest day.

  • Negreira

    25 settembre 2024, Spagna ⋅ 🌧 19 °C

I started the day with a freshly made Tortilla from Ander. Afterwards I went back to the square in front of the cathedral to watch the pilgrims arriving. I set off at 1 p.m. and after 5 hours of walking in the rain I arrived in Negreira completely soaked. There I cooked my two wandering zucchini, which I have had with me for 4 days. Afterwards I went to bed exhausted and fell asleep.Leggi altro

    26 settembre 2024, Spagna ⋅ 🌙 14 °C

I started the day in the dark with my clothes still wet from the day before. It didn't take long before they were soaking wet again. For lunch I had a slightly special, freshly prepared Tortilla. Afterwards, fortunately, it continued in a dry state, but the lake inside my shoes accompanied me until the edge. After 34 kilometers my backpack tore at the hip belt. The last 6 km were particularly emotionally and physically demanding as I had to carry the entire weight on my shoulders. When I arrived at the hostel, Charlotte was already waiting for me and was able to calm me down a bit. I then decided to have my backpack transported the next day.Leggi altro

    27 settembre 2024, Spagna ⋅ ☀️ 17 °C

I was able to start my last day on the Camino with a beautiful sunrise. It was a very special feeling to run without my backpack, I didn't really feel like a pilgrim, but I was still able to enjoy the day and was proud of what I had achieved so far. Accompanied by the sun, I arrived in Fisterra, where the hostaleros and my luggage were already waiting for me. A short time later, Bleaster arrived and we sat down together at a Restaurant, where we gradually added members from our group. In the evening we met some familiar faces again and ended the day together.Leggi altro

  • Road Trip

    28 settembre 2024, Spagna ⋅ ☁️ 18 °C

Together with Alex and two other Italians I went to Lires, then to the lighthouse from Touriñán and to Muxía. It was a very fun trip, with a lot of views of the sea. On the way we had an encounter with a group of cows that were spread across the road and they weren't interested in us driving through.Leggi altro
