    Victoria

    August 3, 2017 in Canada

3rd and final stop. Victoria is a cute little British Town with approximately 80,000 residents. We managed to book a guided bike tour of the city which took us around all the major sites. Lunch included visiting one of the waterfront restaurants while taking in the view of the waterways. It was followed by having some coffee in one of the local coffee shops and exploring the city a little more by foot.Read more

    Skagway

July 31, 2017 in the United States

The 2nd stop on the cruise. The day included doing the White Pass and Yukon Gold railway route, having lunch in a heritage brothel and doing one of the largest zip line courses in the world.

Alaska is truly a beautiful place. From the mountains to the waterfalls, the rainforests to the colour of the lakes and rivers, everything is still very much untouched.

    Juneau

July 30, 2017 in the United States

Our first day in Alaska. We disembarked the ship at around 2pm and walked around the city of Juneau before we took off in a helicopter to visit glacier Herbert. The trip was filled with exciting activities that included dogsledding, drinking water from streams and walking around on beautiful glaciers. The glaciers have the most beautiful blue colours due to the pressure of the snow that apparently makes them absorb all colours except blue.

Afterwards it was exploring Juneau a little more, eating some amazing crab legs and fudge before we headed back to the ship.

    Seattle Stopover

July 27, 2017 in the United States

Our Alaska cruise departs from Seattle so it made sense to spend a few days here exploring the city. We got a very nice Airbnb in the Pike Place area which was conveniently located to the many restaurants, coffee shops and markets the city has to offer.

    7 Mile Beach

June 15, 2017 in Cayman Islands

Cayman Islands has a beautiful stretch of sandy beach called 7 Mile Beach (for the reason that it used to be 7 miles long). The apartment we stayed in for the week was located on this stretch and we were spoiled with the endless walks, swimming and dining it has to offer.

One evening we went to Tiki Beach, a restaurant located right on the beach, which offered beautiful sunsets and some amazing food.

    City Tour

    February 26, 2017 in India

This is my 3rd business trip to Mumbai and I had the privilege of staying for a weekend.

My driver that takes me to the office on a daily basis offered to give me a tour of the city on Saturday. We visited various sites, from Dhobi Ghat, the largest open air laundromat in the world, to the Queens Necklace and the Gateway of India. It's amazing how much British heritage there is in the city.

On the way back to the hotel, we drove over the newly built Bandra-Worli Sea Link bridge and visited the Bollywood area of Bandra.

    Morning run

February 19, 2017 in the United Arab Emirates

We went for a nice 30 min run this morning. Our hotel is conveniently located on a running path that stretches all along the coast with beautiful views of the Burj Al Arab from every angle. The resorts along the running path are out of this world with beautiful pools and gardens. A great way to start off the day! 🏃🏻

    Sightseeing and lunch

February 18, 2017 in the United Arab Emirates

We visited the At The Top observation deck which is located on the 124th floor of the Burj Khalifa. It offers some amazing views over the city. It's mind blowing that people are capable of building such structures today.

For lunch we went to Bu Qtair which was featured on Anthony Bourdain's travel show. It was some of the mist amazing fish I've ever had in my life! Definitely witty visiting and highly recommended!Read more

    Flight and checking in

February 17, 2017 in the United Arab Emirates

We flew with Emirates for the 1st time and boy was I impressed. The plane is very modern with beautiful TV screens and power outlets everywhere. The air hostesses were great, professional and helpful throughout the flight. The food menu also didn't fail to impress.

After arriving we checked into the Jumeirah Beach Hotel where we're staying for the next few days. The hotel is amazing with great sport and leisure activities.Read more

    Hanging with Saffas

February 4, 2017 in the United States

Arrived in Boston last night around 23:15, took an Uber to the hotel and got straight into bed after a long week. This morning we were up at 7:00 and we met up with Charl and Jeané from Bermuda (originally South Africa 🇿🇦) for some coffee and delicious eats at this place called Tatte.

The rest of the day involved hanging out at their place catching up on everything, what the future holds and how they are planning on coping with twins on the way 😊 (yes, they are expecting twins on 13 Feb 2017).

Late afternoon we went to Quincy Market and had a couple of beers, margaritas, tapas and some more beers 🍻.

Great 1st day in Bahstan with 2 of our best friends!
