    Final stop, Langkawi

In the last blog I suggested that transit through Kuala Lumpur would be tight and so it proved. When we checked the flight time prior to leaving Krabi we were horrified to see that our flight on Air Asia (think EasyJet/Ryanair) out of Krabi was delayed by two hours and our connecting flight to Langkawi was also delayed giving us just 90 minutes between flights. In that time we had to go through Immigration, collect our bags and get to Departures as our bags were not being checked through. On arrival at KL we sprinted (well ran as quickly as we could!) through the airport and somehow we made it! Our agent back in the UK was doubtful we would do it and had provisionally booked us into a hotel overnight. We eventually arrived at our hotel at 10:30, nine hours after checking out of the Krabi hotel.
The Danna here in Langkawi is as good as ever though the hotel is certainly not full. Apparently tourism in Langkawi is still below pre Covid levels.
Yesterday, Saturday I booked a round of golf at the Els club about twenty minutes drive away. I have played the course before and always enjoyed it. The course is tree lined and winds it’s way down to the coast of the Andaman Sea which gives some great views. An additional hazard here though is monkeys! At one point I looked back at my buggy and saw there was a monkey sitting in it and it took a bit of shouting and swinging my putter to persuade it to leave.
We have enjoyed the last few days relaxing. The weather has throughout our trip been excellent though the past couple of days have been a lot more humid.
Been a great trip with plenty of variety involving eight flights and overnight in nine different locations - we have become very proficient in packing and unpacking! We fly back to Singapore tomorrow and our flight home leaves just before midnight. Time now to think where we go next!
