Israel 2024

Sunday we got on our return flight at 1am. Leaving Motzie Shabbos was great, little traffic and zoomed through security, spent a few hours in the kosher San lounge. However, that was after finally having some kosher McDonalds.

So we come to the end on not a one month vacation but a one money cultural immersion/bonding. I really can't describe all we experienced but here is the summary

Hiking Masada
Hiking mitpe Ramon crater
Going to Nova festival site
Stay over in Shuva , where loud alterlery blasted all night
Goto the Rabbi Babie Salie tomb
Getting access to the Karem Shalom kibbutz and seeing hearing the story from the first responder
Touring ADI Negev amazing rehab hospital
Visit the Ben Gurion home and learn so.much more about his vision
One week at the tele shamare hospital Base to prepare medical supplies.
To have the honor of wearing the IDF uniform and each morning doing the Israeli salute and Ha tikva with The IDF and fellow volunteers.
The numerous shop keepers and citizens that were warm and appreciative of our visit.
To work one week on an IDF airforce base and going into the F16 bunker.
To daven with IDF soldiers bringing prayer to a higher level.
The amazing Shabbos we hosted in Tel-Aviv

In the end Sue and I feel connected to Israel, at a completely different level of a Israel supportive Jews. We laughed danced and perhaps cried too much .

On Mincha of the final hours in Israel, I met a Chabad Rabbi originally from Russia. After he chat he said in Russia when there is war people run away. In Israel when there is war people run towards the war,

That is what we did and was honored to help and bond with Israel
