  • Kalgoorlie - WA

    February 14, 2025 in Australia ⋅ ☁️ 28 °C

Stayed here for 3 days at a free RV campground and close to town.

Visited the Gold Mine Super Pit Lookout and watched them detonate the blast of 30 tons of TNT to blow part of the rock face.

Visited all the museums and there was a festival which was really interesting. Walked around town admiring all the beautiful historic buildings with so much history.

Next to our campsite there was a free concert. We watched bands called, The Cats Empire and Good Times. We had fantastic seats and it was a real fun night!

This morning we went on a mine tour at Hannans North Mine. This tour normally costs $100 but we got it for free due to timing. The mine offers one Sunday a month a free tour.

Loved Kalgoorlie- Boulder and everything here was free. We only spent money on food and fuel, we are cheering!

  • Bremer Bay - WA

    February 4, 2025 in Australia ⋅ 🌬 22 °C

Stunning bay and beaches with white sand that looks and feels like talcum powder.

The following day we did an 8 hour Bremer Canyon Killer Whale (Orca) Expedition. Our boat took us out to continental shelf and witnessed many Orcas encounters during the day. The Orcas killed a beach whale and watched them feed. You can see red blood in the water and the oil from the whale floating on top of the ocean. The boat was very rocky in the southern ocean. Nature was in display and we were in the thick of it, what a remarkable day!Read more

  • Stirling Range & Porongurup - WA

    February 3, 2025 in Australia ⋅ ⛅ 20 °C

Our camp neighbours Annette and Richard from Palmwoods QLD, invited us to do some hikes today. We set off bright and early and started our first hike to Bluff Knoll, Stirling Range, NP. This is a grade 4 trail with very steep paths to reach to the summit. We managed to go past the half way mark, then the weather turned and so did we! We managed to take a photo of the rainbow down in the valley.

Following that we started our next hike at Porongurup NP to do the Granite Skywalk. It is a suspended walkway on the huge granite outcrop of Castle Rock.

A full day of hard hiking in all weather conditions but worth it!
